haha....just makin sure before you bought a expensive lift. Everyone says....4.10 gears will get your truck back to like it was stock..power wise and i'm guessing mpg wise also. I mean you have 3.73's, thats pretty good. Post some picks or something when you get her finished!

Not a direct answer to your question, but...

My truck has the 5.4L, K&N drop in, SCT XCal2 with the economy tune, 3.55 gears, and 35s / leveling kit. I get 15 mixed city / highway driving, about 13.5 city only, about 17 straight highway with the cruise locked in at 70. Assuming everything else is the same, your 3.73s should net you a little bit since your gear ratio will be closer to stock, and the higher ride height with more tire and lift kit / suspension components hanging below the body / exposed to the air stream and in turn creating drag should pull back a bit on the MPGs... All in all I would assume self cancelling.

A tuner and gears are well worth the $$ MPG wise, but you should expect to be lower than stock...

FWIW, My truck has been spending most of it's time in the driveway while I beat the snot out of my Saturn. Just use the truck when I need, well... A truck...

I would not be doing any heavy towing with 3.73 and 35's

I'm going with a leveling kit on 325/60/20's with a spacer and a little trimming till I decide on what lift I want.

When I had my 315x70x17 BFG AT's on my truck got a consistent 13-14 city and 16-18 hwy. You just have to keep the crusing speed down and a programmer always help's too! Also an all terrain tire will get about 1 mpg better than a mud terrain on the highway due to less rolling resistance and lighter weight.

i'm looking at a nitto terra grappler 325/60/20 with a level kit, spacer for the wheels, slight trimming, and then looking for a lift I like and wheels.

nitto terra grappler 325/60r20 went on about an hour ago and so far they are the best oversized tire i have ever owned. i can personally compare these with the mickey atz and mtz, bfg at, procomp at and x mt. they have an extremely smooth ride and no noise at all from what i can tell.

definitely a nice ride. and so far the mpgs are about 14.2 after i have gone 100 miles or so.

interesting . . i would think the 18 vs 20 mounted weights would be close . .. . anywho, i wanted to comment:
- my 325/60-20 Terra G's net me about 12.5-13 on mixed 40mph country roads and some 65mph hwy. I have 15K on them and have been a good tire so far - all road contractor use. quiet and wearing well.

- i had considered 456 gears but the cost benefit is not worth it to me - and my programmer makes it pull like stock (with much nicer shifting, etc)

- We bought two identical '06 f150's and with my edge program on 3, my lifted truck with 35's pulls identical to the stock one. We often go on jobsites together and when ever we can get 'em side by side on a good stretch of hwy, we throw it to them. even on a few 1mile+ steep mountain passes, we stay neck and neck. he gets approx 1-1.5mpg better.

- i know some guys can eek out the 35's on a leveling kit, but for giggles i mounted my 35's and tried turning and it rubbed nasty in both directions. here's a pic of the 325-60-20 (35") on a 1.5" leveling kit - 20" rims have 5.71"bs.
before & after i installed a 6" lift:

Thanks for the help and personal info. What lift did you go with? More pics of the truck? I like what I saw so far of it.

i have pics posted in my album. various captions with some of the pics if you hover over them. I went with RCD lift - pricey but quality stuff. Not sure how to link to it, here's a try:

If it doesn't work, click my name and poke around for album.https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...ums-doc-s.html
