What Tire Pressure are you running?
Hello All,
I have an 06 Mark LT with factory 20's running 275-55-20 Nitto TG.
I have noticed that I am wearing more on the outside of the tires (all 4)
I know that this caused by under inflation. My OEM POS Scorpions did
the same. I know that Ford states to keep the tires at 35 PSI, but the
Nitto's have a Max pressure rating of 50 PSI.
What are you running your tires at. I am willing to give up some comfort for
more tire longevity.
Thanks,
MC

Believe it or not.....
my BFG AT's are rated at 80 lbs, and I'm running 60 psi in them. Ride is great. Granted, I'm also running Bilstein 5100 shocks, so I know that helps too.
The way I see it, 60 lbs probably helps to give me a touch better mileage, and is less mushy in the turns. And this is still well below the max pressure of my tires.
Peace,
Fish

Best way to check for proper inflation is to run a line of chalk across the tire treads. Move your truck forward/backwards a few tire revolutions and see if the chalk has worn off evenly. Do this on flat level ground. Worn off in the middle is over inflated and worn off on the sides only is under inflated. Hope this helps.
