Sparatic Reverse Sensors

Sparatic Reverse Sensors
When I first start my truck and put it into reverse my reverse sensors will work for 5-10 seconds then stops completely. Then they won't work at all, until I turn off the truck and start up again then it does the same thing again. What could this be? Anyone have this issue?

Mine are the same way. I wish they would just fail and be done with it. I'm guessing, as I haven't wasted the time to figure out exactly what's happening. But you probably have a intermittent connection someplace in the wiring harness. I say this because I read about someone who spent a fair amount of time searching for the problem in his system. It ended up being a connector that is located some where near the transmission.
I figure it's just not worth the time to try to solve this problem as I don't use reverse enough for it to drive me nuts.

The sensors are clean and free of mud. There are no cracks. I had Ford stealership take a look when I had an oil change and they never mentioned anything about loose connections. They said I need to replace part of the sensor system. I don't have the part # in front of me but they gave me a $250 to fix. The part was only $35- $50 the rest in labor.
