Uh oh, I'm thinking that due to your K&N that we are talking incompatibility.

I know ours are like 10"+ long for a stock setup.

The S&B has a drone from hell, that only got worse after custom tuning. Much of the drone is caused by some of my other modifications though. I'm still waiting to see if PHP can tune out some of the drone and same my gas mileage; right now I have the std. shift points and the TQ lock/unlock all the way up.... The truck sucks about 2 tanks of gas a week when I drive it...

Fortunately, I have driven it only about 6 weeks so far this year... Between being torn apart for a slew of new mods and the massive floor to ceiling detail I did on it at the first of March it has sat idle.

is it normal that my 07 doesent have a conical air filter?

Yes. Conical is aftermarket, you should have the flat dish type above the throttle body that slides out.

ok. i keep seeing 5.4s with the conical air filter and was getting confused
