No and No. You need the relay harness that changes the bulb from hi to Lo and vice versa. The bulbs themselves have a built in solenoid that move the glass in the bulb back and forth (and it misses the focal point on the high beam by a mile = poor performance).

If you buy a set of DDM replacement bulbs in the H13 hi/low configuration. They will send you the bulbs plus the harness for hi/low control. Just add the relay harness and you'll have what you need. I changed my bulbs (they are really called arc tubes) and I recieved a new hi/low control harness and the relay harness (I ordered that separately).

well im thinking about picking up another set. a hi/lo set for my head lights. then i need to find some driving lights i can fit my old ones into.

question: whats the better kit between these two? its a price difference of twenty bucks after selecting 55watt and H13 hi/lo.

I highly doubt you will find a driving/spot lights that take an h13. Im doing a similar change. I have anzo projectors that are hi/lo in seperate bulbs. Im getting new projectors with hi/lo in one bulb and getting a replacement HID kit. From DDMtuning just h13 bulbs are 40 bucks. Where for 60 you can get a complete h13 kit with ballasts and everything. Im gonna do that and just have an extra set of ballasts lying around just incase.

I was in the same debate. I got the Raptors and couldn't be happier with them. For the cheaper cost and .000012 of an inch thicker (exaggerating) Its worth it. I ordered 5k Hi/Lo H13 and it comes with all the relays/ Hi/lo ect. stuff you need. -Brent

Man at least do the 35w kit. 55w in these trucks is just retarded bright.

I've been thinking about HIDs in auxiliary lights on a front mounted light bar for offroad use since I took them out of my headlights. Looks like you are limited to H4 offerings. H13 isn't gonna happen in auxiliary lights.

Any recommendations for HID kits? I know there are many out there on ebay and other websites, but when it comes to all around hi/low/ballast all in one kits, is there anything or do I need to pick parts up seperate and put it together?

refer to post #5 and #8. or use the search option.

i guess im just gonna pick up the hi/low kit and buy some hella 500's for now, one day put some low's in the 500's. 6000k all the way around. put my current set up for sale and try to get a few bucks for them.

edit:

driving lights or flood lights? just using them for rainy days and highways. i live in the woods and would like to be able to spot animals before im right up on them.

I couldn't be happier with the performance/ease of installation of my DDM kit for my fogs. Having a little trouble piecing together the kit for my headlights however, I should have just ordered the entire kit for my heads from DDM also, and still may end up doing that.

Dont use them anywhere unless you are off the pavement where no other motorists are. Those hella offroad housings project light everywhere, with HIDs in them oncoming traffic wont be able to see a thing...especially in the rain. With water on the windshield the glare is magnified big time.
