Aftermarket Gears Fluids ?
Put yukon 4.88's in my truck last month , i love them so far.
Anywho-
Went to get the fluids changed in the differentials after the 500 mile "break in" period today and asked the guy whens the next time i need to change the fluids , he said every 7,500-10,000 miles.
Im just curious if a fluid change is necessary every 7.5-10k, seems abit much to me. i dont remember changing the fluids with my stock gears and im at 48k.
Any input from the gear guru's on this ?

I changed mine at the 500 mile break-in period and never again. I would recommend getting the mag-hytech diff cover, if you don't already have one, and getting royal purple fluid (already has additive in it) and not worrying about it. If it makes ya feel good do it every 10-15k I guess. Honestly the fluid in mine has been in for about 50k with no problems, I will probably change it once the OD TICKS 75k here soon.

Go with a good synthetic, Ford, RP, Redline Etc. Ford doesn't specify a change interval, but the dealer reccomends about 100 K. I just did mine at 120000, and the fluid looked good. I used Redline with 2 bottles of Modifier, per the Ford techs. I want a mag-hytech so bad, I can't stand it, but they dont fit my Expd, due to the rear crossmember.

Yeah something under $10 sure breaks the bank. Honestly for me if something works I'll stick with it.
