Here are some pics for those interested in these. Mine tend to work when they want, hardly ever do all the LED's light up.

I have bought the 4zproducts one, the duels, and I am just wondering what the best and or easiest way to run the wires would be? I will have one on each ides of the bed back by the tailgate. They have a switch on each light to control on/off and a strike pad that goes on the tail gate so when the gate is dropped the come on. I was thinking of running some 14 gage wire from the battery, positive side thru and inlike fuse and then to the back of the truck. My deal is where do I run the wire, under the truck (how do I weather/water proof the wire), inside the cab some how, or do I just tap into the power somewhere in the rear? How do I tap into some power source? I can install a switch somewhere if I want to if needed? I spend a lot of time sitting on my tail gate and do not want them on all the time, draining my battery, but when I am hunting it is nice to have the lights come on to see my bed.

suggestion on how to run wire- i ran mine from battery, thru firewall, under the door sills all the way to the back seat, behind the seat i drilled a 1/2" hole thru cabwall then went underneath my bed cover weather striping and to my switch. around the hole that i made in the cabwall i put some chaulking. waterproof obviously. then if you always got your gate open then put a toggle switch. like you said, if you put like a door switch and lights come on when you open your gate, they will be on all the time and just kill your battery. toggle swicth or anything similar is the way to go imo

I could locate the switch inside somewhere? Ok so I go from the bbatery, thru the firewall (where on Passengers side?) the under the door sill and thru the cab wall in back I will have to drill a hole, then where? Under the bed and up thru near the rear?

Any options for wiring to the hitch harness?

yup...thats it. i didnt want to tap in to the harness or anything-didnt want to disturb that, so the line that i ran from the battery is fused...been good ever since(over a year)

then you got to make sure the wiring is 100% weather proof. where i live salt, is constantly on the roads half the year. then water eatin at the wire. i dont want to keep running new wire or worry about troubleshooting grounds here and there. running it thru the cab, in my case, kept at least 95% of the wiring safe of all those cons.

If you want the on/off switch in the cab you need to wire it from the battery, thru the firewall (I did driver side) then to switch in dash, then from switch under door sill rail (lots of wire looms, take your pick which hole to use) then under the truck to the bed and up the the LED lights....if you want the switch in the bed itself or under the truck then bypass going thru the firewall and just run them under the truck using the stock wiring on the frame rails and zip ties.

and the LED setups looks great guys

Here's mine

Being in Nebraska I was wondering about the weather proofing of the wire....what are my options? I have a spray in liner so that makes my options limited.

I installed this same set up on mine last week. I figured since the headlights would probably be on I just tapped into the taillights for power and ground. The power source works fine but I am not so impressed with the lights. For what they cost I could have made my own set up with brighter LEDs. Good luck

What wires did you tap into and where? Colors? That might be an option, but sometimes when I am hunting I turn the head lights off when I park but still need to see my bow hunting stuff in the bed

Primetime6 I understand your concerns about waterproofing. But lots of your trucks wiring is under your truck. I am sure lots will disagree but put some loom on it and it should be fine. I tapped into the dome light wire in door sill works great.
