Biggest Tire Size on Stock Fx4 Wheels
Biggest Tire Size on Stock Fx4 Wheels
Figured I'd make my own thread isn't of hogging up another...
Just a future mod and getting a feel for my options or maximum allowed or fit-able size in this case.
I bought my F150 with 3" Body Lift and 2.5" Leveling Kit and 33" BFG Tires 4x4
It has those Fx4 wheels which are 18" I believe. I read that I can go as wide as 12.5" inches.....(looking for the wide tire look that many on here have so I can put Fender Flares)
I see it in every other size but 18 on here....or did I miss it?

Thanks

A 325 is a little too wide for stock 7.5" wide rim.
looks like a 4x4 from the tow hooks
Cool, did not see the pic. If its 4x4 with that lift I would go with nothing smaller than 35x12.50 regardless of what tire you decide to go with.

I don't want to pop your bubble, but most tire manufacturers recommend a particular wheel width or range of wheel widths to be used with specific tires. The largest width I've seen recommended for an 18x7.5 is a 285 (11.2"). BF Goodrich recommends a rim width of 9" to 12" for that 325/65-18. Does that mean it won't fit? No, but you won't get optimal wear out of the tire either. The cross section of that tire is over 13", so you can expect it to rub on the upper control arm with stock wheels. You really should look at wider wheels to run that set up with less positive offset than the +44 mm offset of the stock wheels.
okay thanks. Yes its a 4x4 and I was just throwing the idea out....not sure how much wider 325 is or isn't then 35/12.5inches
But definitely fill me if you know how to transfer it to inches.
P.S. I'd love to do 37s, but will they fit as my truck is now? Let me know.....definitely like bigger and wider lol

Alright so then that size is bigger? and by how much? I'd be happy with 12.5 if the All Terrains were offered in that size in 35s
Hell 37 would be great but not sure if they would fit without rubbing

The "325" in the 325/65-18 is the cross section in millimeters. To convert to inches divide it by 25.4 and you get 12.8. Multiply that by the aspect ration (65%) and you get a 8.3" sidewall. Take the sidewall and multiply it by 2 and you get 16.6". Now add the rim diameter and you get 34.6". Technically the tire is a 35x13, but the manufacturer actual measurements shows it as a 34.6x13 as measured on a 9.5" wide rim.
Most manufacturers give 70% of the cross section of the tire as the minimum rim width to run with the tire. Sure, they will mount them on any rim of the appropriate diameter, but you won't get the best performance or wear out of the tire. Your money, your choice.

I currently have 305/65 18s and definitely don't stick out from the fenders like I want.
So with everything else as is, how big can i go, without rubbing.....the idea of 37s was brought up but not sure if anyone has done it with my same exact lift size.....would be great to know.
