05 King Ranch Instrument Cluster Question

I recently got an 05 F150 King Ranch 4X4. On the instrument cluster (were the gears would be written if the shifter was on the column) it says lariat instead of king ranch. I know i have seen several other 150's that said king ranch there(im not sure if they were 05's, they could have been 06 or 07), and i was wondering why mine says lariat? And also i wanted to know if there is a way to get it to say king ranch other than just replacing the entire cluster?
Thanks for the help

Its easy to change out, since yours isnt actually a gear indicator it shouldnt have a cable attached to it. take the cluster out and squeeze the tabs on the bottom and pull it out.

heres a replacement gear indicator but its not the "king ranch". maybe try the dealer and see if they can get ya one, or call these guys, or tascafordparts.

Sounds fishy to me, but I don't have any knowledge one way or another.

i thought so too but it has all the decals and seats and trim like any other KR.
My only guess is the cluster had to be replaced for some reason, but im far from an expert so i dont know.

Well at least you have the two-tone, so it's less likely to be a knockoff KR. Realistically, the KR is just a Lariat with different leather/armrest, so it's not entirely unlikely that they just through a Lariat cluster label in there. The painted wheels are the only other King Ranch specific item I can think of.

Is it possible somone just swapped the interior? Are the beige/tan on a Lariat and KR the same color beige/tan? maybe no big deal, but could it possibly be a flood vehicle?

welll im pretty sure it is legit, i got it from the dealership that sold it new, and saw the original sticker that did say King Ranch on it. And they showed me the carfax, which was clean(i dont know how much stock to put in those though). And it has the KR wheels, badges and the floor mats for that matter. If it is a knockoff im happy with it cause you definately cant tell a difference, lol, other than the lariat badge in the cluster. Do yal think its possible to buy just the King Ranch name badge to put in the cluster? If so any idea how hard this would be to do? Ive never had the cluster out of this model truck.

I'm willing to bet it's authentic, it would take some work to change out the steering wheel to match the KR seats and instrument cluster pad. It's likely just an omission by the Factory, or they ran out of King Ranch stickers. It should be relatively easy to switch out if it bothers you.

That sounds legit, just that it was built on a Monday or Friday. It would seem like a lot of work to transform a Lariat to a KR, but people do crazy **** to vehicles. I would think you could get the sticker or whatever from a place like Tasca Ford parts or something. If you look at eBay, just make sure the font is correct. Good luck and enjoy your truck.

Seems like you have decided it is an actual KR, but two more quick ways to tell is if you have the Beige H Bar grille, and if your bed rail caps are beige

theres another guy that just bought a truck and the cluster had been swapped out. he found out that the truck has a lot more miles than what the odometer shows. might be worth checking in to but yours may have just come from the factory with the lariat sticker there.
