park next to someoen at wal mart with similar dent and say they backed into you ...haha..as long as your not in southern illinois and its beside a reg cab 08 i have similar dent from a trash can...
I had a little incident with my garage door rails... I came within 1mm of them and it did a nice 2" scratch in my metal bumper. It actually acted like a razor blade and shaved the paint!
My solution? 400 grit, 800 grit, then 2000 grit wetsand then some Rustoleum Metallic Dark grey twice. You can't tell the difference. I was lucky that that I had that color Rustoleum on hand too.
Now I'm contemplating sanding both the front and rear bumpers and repainting them. I think the Rustoleum is much better paint than the Ford paint.

Well that just sucks.
Before you go to the traditional route of fixing the dent you may want to let a PDR (paintless dent removal) guy look at it and see what he thinks. They can get some dents out that you wouldn't think they could. At least they did on my truck. I had three dents fixed by PDR and one was centered right in the middle of a factory crease in the sheet metal.
I'm out $100 and now have a flawless truck again. It's worth a try.
