17' rim question

Hey, I've got a 2006 F150 XLT XTR 4X4 currently on 18' rims wrapped in Goodyear Wranglers (P275/65/R18).

I picked up some stock chrome 17 inch rims and am looking to get winters put on them.

I was quoted a 265/70/17, are these the right tires for those rims? The rim is 8.75 inches.

Thanks,
Jeff

Those will work.

I've got a set of 265/65R17, and I measured it and the max tire you'd want to EVER put on the NBS trucks on the stock 17" rim would be a 275/75R17 before you'd encounter needing a lift.

However, this is with a 4x2... so I bet you could go a hair bigger on the 4x4 model.

I just put my winter/hunting rim & tire package on last week for the next 6 months. Stock Aluminum 17's shod with 285x70x17 BFG All Terrain KO's....No rubbing whatsoever! I do have a 4x4 however......

I'd go up a little to a 285x70x17, 32.7 inches tall. Would look better on your 4x4.

275/65/18 = 32" tall.

comes on all 4x2 and 4x4 trucks with premium rims.

265/70/17 = 32" tall, and about 1/4" narrower than a 275 width

the 265/70/17 tires will fit perfectly and no rubbing issues on a 4x4 or 4x2 truck.

That's good news. I was worried my truck would sit lower.

Cooper Artic Claws, anyone have any experience with them?
