question on 2008 FX2

I'm looking at buying an 08 FX2 and noticed a few things that suggest it may not be real. This one is a standard cab, stepside bed. Did they make them that way in 08? It also does not have the body matched running boards. There are no boards at all on it. The truck does have the full FX2 front clip, and the black with red "sport stitching on the seats. Since it is a regular cab, there is no center console either. Is this a real FX2, or did someone do a pretty good job of copying one? Anyone know if there is a good way to find out for sure?

The dealer doesn't want to budge on it much because they say it is a "rare" FX2

Yes they did make a regular cab FX2 in 08 only. The previous owner could have removed the steps. If you can get the vin from the truck, add it to the end of this link and it will get you a pdf file of the original window sticker. The sticker will tell you if its real or not.

An FX2 was not a specific trim level, they were a special option pack on XLT's, but it will show FX2 upgrade or something on the sticker.

It took him forever to post images from what I remember. It was worth the wait.

WOW, Midnight's truck looks great! Thanks for that link. The one I'm looking at is bright red, and with a drop like Midnight's I think it would look mean as hell. Guess I'll have to see what kind of trade they will give me. I think their price is still high though, considering I've seen another 08 FX2 screw with more options and half the miles for the same price.

wtf does this mean?? I looked up another FX2 I found locally, and the window sticker has a yellow background with "EXPORT ONLY 7" above the price. It was built in Kansas City still though.

It was probably built for export and somehow ended up back in this country.
