Timing Chain Adjuster

Based on video links from Stealth I have diagnosed my noisy cold startup as a Timing Chain Adjuster problem. Will this hurt the truck to keep driving it without repair? For those who will ask, the answer is that ALL my oil changes are at the dealership with recommended oil and filter. Thanks in advance for your help guys.

It's my understanding the oil pressure leaks down causing the very brief rattle on start-up (after the truck sits overnight for example), but once the pressure builds up the noise stops and it functions normally. Mine does that sometimes.

Well mine is just the start-up rattle, I can't speak for yours. If it's not holding pressure during normal driving and still making noise I'd have it looked at.

Mine is exclusively at startup and oil pressure is within normal limits....so no worries?

Remember, I'm just a member of a Ford trucks forum, not a Ford technician by any stretch of the imagination, so I don't really know, but from what info I got from the flat rate tech vid they make no mention of the start-up rattle from timing chain bleed being a problem.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable about the subject will chime in.

I do. I also use the proper viscosity oil.
