Supercrew is worth about $2500 more than Supercab, all else equal. 5.4L is worth about $500 more than 4.6L all else equal. 1 model year newer is worth about $1500 all else equal That is not a fair trade.

You test drove the current truck and liked it. You've got a lot to learn (and earn) if all you care about is the image of the biggest is best. If you've got issues with acceleration, a $500 gear swap will solve everything.

 

That's what I thought after I posted, but I see the point of your question. That truck is worth a look.

Well, I wouldn't worry about the 4.6 motor too much.... But IMPO, the Supercabs look way better than the Supercrews

Then again, if you want to please the crowd, stick with the Supercrew.

BTW, I'm the opposite..... I research, and research, and research, to the point I drive myself, and everyone around me freaking crazy ! I ask myself every concievable question, over and over.... I Lose sleep.... My driving gets dangerous due to lack of concentration......

Are you 100% positive you have

A: 4.6L v8?
B: FX2

Post pics of the engine/truck please or a VIN #.

I thought all FX4/FX2's came with 5.4L v8's standard.

You are partially correct, all FX4's have the 5.4, but since the FX2 is technically a special option package available on 2wd XLT's they can have any engine that came in an XLT in 07-08, which was the 4.6 or the 5.4

 

5.4L has a dealer invoice cost of $530 new. Used, the 5.4L seems to have about a $300 value according to Edmunds/KBB.

The 4.6L is a good engine. The 5.4L is just better. While I think there is no reason not to get the 5.4L in an F-150, the 4.6l is fine.

 

Haha.. I remember the 2 months before you picked your truck up at the Dealer.. you asked all of us every question imaginable! That's what places like this are for! It's always better to plan ahead then second guess yourself after the fact

 

here she is, i will get some daytime pics up soon. she is definitely a 4.6. i love the truck but it is lacking some of the options that i didn't know were available due to "lack of research" i.e. power rear window, back up sensors, leather seats.

 

Well if you find some leather seats, I'll gladly take those off your hands!

Looks like yours also has towing mirrors on it.

 

I might throw her on ebay to see what I can get. If no one bites then I will keep it. You guys are right, I would get raped on a trade. I don't want to do that.
