I have power mirrors with heat

if i take off the mirror caps to get painted , is there anything electrical that can get ruined if it rains ?

its supposed to rain the next few days and im just wondering if i should wait to have this done , or rig up a cover outta tape and black garbage bags lol

I don't think the caps are removable. The mirror has to be taken off.

Take a look there. We can't change our caps. I think 07 and up could or something like that.

If it were me, I'd probably throw something over the exposed wiring to cover it. However, I don't know that the mirror is sealed water tight with the cap on, so maybe it wouldn't be a big deal. I guess I don't know the answer, but I'm willing to take a guess.

thats what i was thinking, it cant be sealed water tight. all the wires have some sort of cover/wrap on them. but to play it safe , i think i ll try and rig something up

Ok, I gotcha. I thought you meant you took the cap off. You took the whole cover off, my bad dude. I hate the rain. Maybe cover it up like you said with trash bags so that it does not get saoked. You wouldn't want to have an issues.

i think you will be fine with the caps off, because usually the way they got them wrap and covered should keep the wires protected
