I put a 2.5 on my truck and with the weight of my A.R.E. pushing down on the rear I felt the back was too low so I installed a AAL. I like a slight amount of rake so that when I tow the rear doesn't sag so much.

2" Bilstein leveling on my '04 4wd, on a flat level parking lot my rear is only 1/4" higher.

I'm running 2.5 inch spacer in the front and a 3 inch block in the rear has a little rake again but looks good!

Good call with sticking with the 2" kit, the odds are that you will still end up getting a little more than 2" from the kit anyways. And with that heavy cover if you were to put any load in the rear of the truck you would be nose high.

I put a 2.5" AS kit in my truck and ended getting almost 3", so it made my truck dead level which I didn't want. So then I get airbags for the rear and got my rake back, plus they helped alot with towing and hauling.

Here are a couple pics for the heck of it.

What's the best place to measure? How about the distance from top of tire to fender's edge?

You should be find measuring that way. I measured from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender. I asked this once and someone told me that wasn't an accurate measurement because the F150's have different size wheel wells. In my opinion, though, it's a perfectly find place to measure seeing as how we judge how level a truck is by looking at the gap between the tire and top of the wheel well.

Have any of you had any trouble with the upper ball joints? Only reason asking is I stacked the 2.5" spacer on top of my 6" lift and I don't like my ball joint angles. Appear to have a lot of stress, but ater looking at someone who has just the 2.5 spacer there ball joints were just as bad.

When I purchase a kit for my truck I'm going with a 2" kit. As someone mentioned earlier a good rule of thumb is 2 1/2" for 04-05 models and 2" for 06-08 models.

By the way.... those wheels look like 18" Helo Maxx 6's to me.

I put a A/S 2.5" on my old 05 and my measurements were 37.25 F/39.75 R before and 39.75 F/39.75 R after. Here is the only pic I have with it on.

Thanks, the wheels are 18X9 Helo Maxx6's with 5.5" of backspacing. And the tires are 325/60/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers.
