trans flushed and filled at 45k, is it going to go out now??

i know that some people say these trucks have "lifetime" fluid in them, and a flush can do damage, but because of my conditions i figured it may not hurt to change it:

conditions:
-4.6 motor
-2+ years on 33s with 3.55 gears
-occasional towing
-6+ months on 35s with 3.55 gears (no towing, truck ran in 3rd a lot, tc didnt like to stay locked)
-now im running 4.56s

service:
-local VERY reputable independent shop
-trans flush
-cleaner added
-exchanged fluid for valvoline max life (multi grade, meets merc V spec)

can i sleep easy with this?

You should flush it every 30k. If you don't like having your transmission flushed, ask them to only do a fluid exchange without adding the cleaner/ conditionner.

Please show me where Ford suggests to do a transmission flush every 30K miles.

Dont know about every 30, but changing the fluid to remove the worn metal shavings cant be bad.

the owners manual says to flush every 30k if you drive in extreme conditions.

Care to provide a link? Becuase every FORD maint. schedule I have seen recommends CHANGING the transmission fluid, not FLUSHING, every 30K miles. Big difference.

My dealer suggests a flush every 30K miles using a BG flush unit, in fact they add an additional warranty on the tranny for up to 150,000 miles, if performed by them & documented.....So, I really do not thnk that it will hurt a thing!

You are probably correct. And thats awesome that they offer the warranty with it. I was just making the point that no matter how many people on this board say so, Ford does not recommend it.

I don't think flushing it will harm it. Make sure you keep the fluid level full and it is clean.
