I had a bad left front wheel bearing on my truck a few months ago. No noise in 2wd, but in 4x4 it hummed pretty loud. When I jacked it up the thing was wasted. I could move the tire up/down/side to side q lot. I was surprised it hadn't been making all sorts of noise or driving funny.

The bearing/hub cost me $160 from RockAuto and it took me just about 45 minutes to replace it...very easy. Just some random thought...

I had the same noise. it sounded like I was dragging a rake down the road. I had the solenoid on the firewall changed and it has been fine ever since. Ford has a TSB on this. It cost me $40 here in Canada, so it's probably about 50 cents in the States.LOL The new ones are sealed better so water doesnt get in

I did the solenoid, I did the actuators recently. This sound is coming from my 2 front wheels. I took a video with my camera I just cant post it here at work.

it could be, most aftermarket mufflers have the bearing deleted to free a little more flow up and just takes out one more variable that will break.

That the biggest advantage to the aftermarket mufflers.

Yeah I actually don't even have the muffler on there. I cut it and did straight pipes.

my lifted 04 just started making this exact noise! I made a hard right onto a side road and the noise started. I pulled off on another road and hopped out to investigate. Couldnt find anything so I started driving again. About a min later it started again. Stopped, put it in reverse and it went away. Pulled back onto the road and headed for home. About 5 miles down the road and 2 miles from home it started again... sounds extremely bad, like the drivetrain is about to fall out from under the truck. I pulled over and when i slowed down to almost a stop, i felt and heard a clunk, and it it went away. couldnt really tell where the noise was coming from.

Great prices on muffler bearing right here http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main...products_id=10

If it ends up being brake related, you might also want to replace your brake lines with some premium cross drilled brake lines http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main...&products_id=1

Where was this info a year and a half ago when my bearing went out? I paid 4 times that from Ford!
