Bad Dealership Experience

So I dropped my 2006 4x4 F150 off to get my 30k done. I had them flush tranny and replace fuel filter and all the other things that were recommended with the 30k service. I get my truck back and I dont trust dealers, so I was checking all the fluids out in the parking lot of the dearlership. I find that the power steering reservoir is below the MIN level so I went and told them they were like its ok if its at the MIN level thats why they didn't fill it. Then I check the tranny fluid and it was barely even reading on the dipstick so then they take the truck back in and put more tranny fluid and power steering fluid in. Then they try and play it off like it was no big deal that the tranny fluid was low. After all this im driving home and now there is a noise coming from the steering colum between 10-20mph. The noise cycles on and off consistenly and I dont know what else they did to cause this. This sucks I just spent alot of money getting this service done and they did a half a@! job.

Check local dealer reviews on the net, next time. Maybe you can find a local dealer with good reviews and good service. IMO. - Og

thats why i do everything myself. i don't like other people working on my ride. i did that with my 4x4 4wheeler after i bought it. got home, 2 days later, started it up a rode for about 5 min., then the oil temp light came on. checked oil, no oil in it at all. but the bill showed that they put oil in it. took it back up there, and raised all kind of hell. after 2 months of this B/S, they called me and told me to bring it back, that they had a new motor to put in it. i told them that i was going to put the motor in myself. and they agreed, because, my Lawyer was standing beside me. never trust anyone to do simple stuff that you can do yourself on things. TMO.

Check your dealership before you send it in there.

If your steering column is making odd noises right after they've serviced it, take it back.

Yea already contacted Ford, waiting for a reply. Forgot to mention they also said I need new rotors and brakes in the rear because mine were rusted... Im not an experienced mechanic but I do know some about vehicles and there isn't anything wrong with my brakes. I have an appointment with them about the steering column but at this point with the way they serviced the truck and their lousy customer service throughout the whole process I might just go to another dealer. Only problem is I checked online and it looks like im in an area with alot of low rating dealerships.

Where are you located? One of the members here may be able to recommend a good dealer.

Yeah, I got a dealer here in NJ who the service guy gave me crap "because of the last 2 trucks you had, remember, Ford issed 2 TSBs based on your truck" and I said what the hell is your point? I mean, if the truck was broke, fix it. He said he will not do anything until he verifies it. No problem. There is no reason for him to give me crap about my past vehicles. I told him I just drive them, not build them. AH. Oh, its Haldeman Ford.

I'd tell them you want your money back! When I worked at a VW dealer we had a customer let all the air out of his spare tire then bring it in for a major $400 service. One of the things on the inspection sheet was to check and adjust pressure in the spare. When the guy picked his car up he checked and there was still no air in the tire before he even moved the car. He went right back in and basically told the service manager he wanted his money back because how does he know we did everything he paid $400 for us to do. We had to give him his money back.

he had a good point though and aparently he was right since the spare was still flat. i hate dealerships myself everytime i take my powerstoke in to get serviced under the free oil changes for life they always to forget to do something put the dipstick back in , put the oil cap on, tighten the drain plug, change the filter, put the lugnuts back on and tighten them(this was recient) i lost 2 lugs off my back wheel and these arent cheap because you have to buy the whole kit. i checked the other lugs and most of them were loose tightened em up with the impact no problems now. there is always something they dont do right but i dont want to spend the $90 on oil to change it myself so i just have to deal with it. and when something is wrong with it they cant find anything and say theres nothing wrong with it 2 days later itll quit and not start somewhere or just quit driving down the road .that has happened 3 times under warranty. but they always say they cant find anything.
on my f150 i do all my own service since one day it wouldnt run over 40mph on the highway( it only had 10k on it) with it to the floor. i took it in and they called me and said they couldnt find anything wrong with it (not the same dealer as my f250) . ok i went and picked it up and the service manager was there when i cranked it and it was idleing really rough and missing shaking the truck. i asked him you cant hear it its missing and it was obviously noticeable with my exhaust i had on it at the time. but he started making up **** saying it was because i had a programmer on it (which at 10k i didnt not till 37k), and then changed his story and said it was just the computer learning and it would stop after i drove it a while, blah blah blah. i just tolk him f u and left went home checked it out and had to change 3 coils that were bad. i was so pissed off. the service follow up call lady got an ear full i feel sorry for her now that i thing about it.
if your ever in se tx stay away from kinsel ford and silsbee ford.

good luck with your truck at the dealer.

I live just outside of Washington DC. Anyone around that area that knows of a good dealer? Im still in contact with Ford Motor Company and the Dealership. The service manager at the dealership has been avoiding my calls and messages.
