HID Bi-Xenon Problems

So I got my fogs in, no problem.

I went to do the heads today and ran into problem.

The bulb on the drivers side sticks out to far out of the back of the headlight housing and contacts the piece of steel behind the headlight. It is almost 1/4 to long.

I did check to make sure they were going to fit but it was on the passenger side(figures). And that side does clear by just about 1/8.

Any body else have this problem?

And to top it off I lost my battery bolt nut, fell behind the battery. Took the battery out along with the tray and the windshield fluid holder and still no luck. Ran to two store and no nuts fit the bolt.....Does Ford do this just do **** a guy off?

Anyway it's been a long non-productive day

Ha the battery nut thing happened to me, too. Look directly behind the battery. On the firewall there's a little box with two nuts on it the same size as the battery. Just take one off because the other will be sufficient to hold it. Use it instead.

Dunno about the headlight problem, though. Are you sure you got the correct size? H13 for the heads?

That's the only thing I can think of is maybe they sent the wrong bulb?

Damn, I wish I would have known about that nut before I went running....But know I can't find the bolt either so I might have to have a trip the the stealer on Monday.

Yes, the bulb is the right kind, H-13. It fits and locks into place just fine but the driver side hits before the headlight is pushed back all the way.

Mine is were I can't even push the light back into position, When I start pushing it back the bulb begins to be pushed up, and I would assume that would make a ton of glare with the bulb in the housing not straight. But the passenger side just clears.....

hit it with a hammer so it clears, or cut a hole so it fits.

yeah, I actuality had the hammer in my hand. I decided to check the back side before I went swing away, glad I did. Their is all kinds of cross enforcement pieces running behind it, like a bunch of X's. No way am I am going to be able to bend it out that much.

I might just exchange them for non Bi-Xenon ones....I don't ever use my highs anyways. I believe the bulb on them just looks like the factory one then....

I do, But I might just exchange them for NON bi-xenon ones, as the bulb base is shorter on the NON bi-xenon and then they should fit...

I went with the Hi/Lo kit which still allows you to have hi beams, but they are only halogens. TX checks for hi beams during inspection so I had to keep them. The HI/Lo kit bulb is the exact same size as stock in all dimensions, so you might just try that.

Just a little more info for you. Hope it all works out.

I'm confused

So your HID kit has two bulbs...one for low and a halogens for high?

No it has two bulbs basically built into one. I attached a picture, but the Xenonlink bulb looks a little different. The when it comes out of the bulb, you have two wiring harnesses that go into the the ballasts. One just bypasses the ballast altogether and acts as the hi beam.

It's a very easy install. Very self explanatory once you see it.

I see....Does the second bulb affect how the HID bulb reflects at all?
