Dont be so sure. I have an 04 fx4 supercab and with a little less than a quarter of a tank left, I filled it up and put 29 gallons in. According to that chart I have a 26 gallon tank.

I gotta scab with the same tank, I try to keep it near full at most times, def a good idea in the winter to avoid condensation buildup!

it's nifty little trick that Ford has being doing since at least the mid 80's

They build a 3-5 gallon "reserve" into the calibration of the Gas gauge. so the gauge says empty...but you really have at least 3 gallons of gas.

serves 2 purposes.
1. keep you from getting stranded by running out of gas...you have alot of warning that the tank is getting empty

2. more importantly, it keeps the fuel pump submerged so you don't burn it up

but yeah, my truck has never taken more than 25/26 gallons to fill up. And I have the 30 gallon tank as well.
