Spark plug update, second change at 70k

first change revert back to this thread https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...-off-head.html

Cliff notes:
Feb of 2006
Changing plugs at 36k miles for blower install.
Condition of plugs were all rusted
All creaked and groaned except 1
That 1 broke off in the head
after trying many times, finally got the 1 broke off in the head out.

When re-installing the new plugs, anti seize was used on threads and the long part of the spark plugs.

Which brings me to yesterday.

Swaping out the vortech for a saleen twin screw. I needed to change out the plugs and put in a smaller gap. So...

Cold Engine
turned all plugs 1/4 turn then sprayed some liquid wrench
went and ate mexican food
Time to install new plugs

Started on the hardest one 1st(pass side rear).
No creek or groaning... $(*%*$($*%(^($*
but wait, what is this? The full spark plug came out
I went to the next one...
then the next one..
wait this one gave a little creek, but came out fine
and the next one, next one, next one..

They all came out like all sparkplugs should. No creeking, except for that little on that one. No rust on the plugs etc. Anti-Seize is the hero.

FYI, with no intake manifold this is a breeze...

Good to hear Fatherford and congrats on your new Saleen S/C. I changed my spark plugs at 16k miles when I installed my Roush S/C and will probably change them again around 30k. I antisized mine as well. Hopefully I won't have any problems either the second time.

Keep us posted on the install.

anti-seize is a dream. I love that goo!

we've had the same can (borrowed from work) for 16 years.

Nice. Good job!

I had my plugs changed at 22,000 miles on a TSB, they all came out fine, no problems. Friends with the tech.

I'm at 72,000 miles now, and I'll change them again at 80,000.

It is my firm belief that running a good detergent gasoline is key to getting these plugs out in one piece.
