Horns finished!

Well to those who were posting in my last thread a couple days ago i thought i would update you guys, i finished the horns tonight, took a little while longer than i thought but it was WELL worth it.

Im using Semi horns right now, not train horns but next month im gonna pick up a set of K3's!

If you dont have a set of horns on your truck GET THEM.

they are so much fun!

Ill have pics of everything all together and a short video friday.

Switches, red one activates the compressor, black button activates the horns

Some poeple like to but it under the steering wheel, i perfer this, a little more custom look.

5 Gallon Tank

Semi truck horns

I got this comrpessor for pretty much nothing, so i dont expect it to last, im going to get a Viair or Air Zenith soon.

Solenoid.

I got all my parts mainly form work for free, but i bought the solenoid from a truck shop where we do alot of buisness at, so i didnt pay much for that, and got the compressor at harbor frieght, all in all i spent about 75 bucks for my set up, mind you i have all the fittings and hoses at work because dump trucks use air for brakes.

Heres a quick vid.

You need to route the airlines away from the exhaust better and tie them up out of the way and not hanging down.

Nice set up! Your truck looks nice and those horns are LOUD! I was kind of scared when thinking of how to do mine because i thought semi horns would be too quit but those are nice sounding. Good job man!

Edit: I just noticed in the video, the guy in the white van behind you freaks out and looks lover like ''wtf?'' lol!

the lines may look close in the pics, they are a good 3-4" away from any piping and my exhaust is getting redone in about 2 weeks once i get my bundle of parts in so im not to worried about it. they are all zip tied out of the way and arent moving. they only lines that have been there since last night is the one running from the solenoid to the horns the other three have been there for a few days with no issues.

And yes they are pretty loud! im thinking of keeping them and running another switch with another solenoid so i can have both the truck and train horns. use both or just one.
