Painted Rear Wheelwells!

This morning, I spent some time painting my rear wheel wells a couple of coats of Rustoleum Smoke Gray (Gloss). They came out great ( sorry did not take pics). The color matches perfectly. I was always kinda upset with this area of the truck, since the truck was new, it looked as if the factory forgot to paint this area properly & did a ****ty job! It now looks much better, & cleaner looking & has extra protection from rust! For a cheap mod, I strongly suggest it! ........ Thinking about doing the rear axle next!......

Cool, I painted my hole frame, axles... well basically everything under neath my truck that I could get at that needed paint. I used a flat black rust paint, it really looks sharp on the axles!

That's the route I took also. If you really want a shock, Take the plastic box rails off and look down the holes in the box side, There sitting in between the inner fender and box side will be a ton of wet dirt and small stones not to mention all this winters road salt, I stick the sprayer up there everytime I wash my truck but unless you take the caps off the box you can't get it out, A 2' piece of brake line brazed to a blow nozzle for your air compressor works well.

I'm going to do this mod this spring sometime. I've been thinking about going the brush route on the frame and everything underneath and spray in the fender wells. Did you have any over spray issues or what did you do to prevent it?

I took my step bars off today and was laying underneath the truck and damn!!!! It's filthy. Lots of salt residue. I need to get on this!!!!

I would spray it before any brushing, The overspray will settle under the truck and will not set on your paint, even if it does it will be dry by the time it get there and will rince off.

Mine too Bry, every weld. I was thinking today I'll put my riding rain gear on, slap on the goggles, get the hose out, lay on the creeper, and then spray the crap out of it

Doing mine this weekend with a few cans of bed liner spray from NAPA. Doing the axle and other stuff in semi-flat black also.
