Edge...pull the trigger again?

Well I had an Edge and when they couldn't fix the shudder I sold it to a guy with a 4.6L v8 f-150. Now I've been told they have the shudder fixed, and I can pick one up with a next day air, and a edge sweater for $350....should I pull the trigger?

Yeah, go ahead. I sold mine last summer but now I miss it.

Edit: BTW, where are you buying it and is that the best price you could find? I'm thinking about buying another one, too.

I tell you what I miss the Edge also, had decent tunes for a stock tuner.

The Edge is being sold for $359 at Autoanything and eBay with free shipping, brand new.

Back when the Edge first came out the 5.4L on level 3 would cause what felt like a tranny shudder around 65mph. But I have been told by several, including Stealth from these forums that they have corrected that issue and all is well now.

Autoanything is where I found the Edge at $359 with next day air, and a Edge sweater.

Nope don't buy it. I tried to get the updates that were supposed to fix the shudder. They didn't. Sold mine to a coworker.

If I were buying another tuner today, it would be the Gryphon from Powerhungyperformance.com. It is the same basic hardware as the Edge Evo but it can be custom tuned and has several additional features.

I put 30,000 on my truck with the Edge on Level 3 and thought I was happy. Got PHPs custom tunes and have put 20,000 on it mostly with an 87 Performance tune. Like night and day. If my unit failed, I would be ordering another Gryphon. Same hardware as the Edge, but with much more responsive tunes.

Are they still doing the upgrade? I thought I read somewhere they no longer upgrade the Edge but just send you a whole new Gryphon and take the old Edge? I'm still a bit confused on how their process works for that...I'm interested in upgrading fairly soon.

I don't know, Just contact them and ask. Whether they replace or reskin, it's worth it.

for a little more, I'd honestly rather go with custom tunes. Just my opinion.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger tonight so I have it on Friday. I would like to have a gryphon and custom tunes but your looking at close to over a $100 more when you add the custom tunes. Plus I can use bill me later and get 90 days without interest to pay off the edge through autoanything.com

Besides I'm not looking for anything more then a little hop up like the first go around, and if Stealth says the shudder is fixed then I think I can trust his word.

The Edge sucks. Dont believe me? Throw your truck on the dyno and check out your A/F ratios...then tell me it doesn't suck.

Custom tunes FTW. $100 more is WELL worth it when you are talking about the safety of a $30k truck.

What would prevent buying the tunes but installing them on a edge if it's the same product?
