Muffler Options??

I'm looking into a few different mufflers for my 08 5.4L Supercrew.

I'm just going to cut the stock muffler off and have a new one welded on. I have had flowmasters on other trucks. It sounds good and is always an option but I was looking for some feedback on other brands. I was thinking possibly putting a Borla but don't know how it will sound.

Seems as if Magnaflow is the most popular for our trucks. I been considering getting one myself. Others here, probably could give more info then I could.

It all really depends on what you are looking for in your exhaust, volume level, tone, all of that take into play. Magnaflow, Borla, IMCO, Roush, all of those, sound really good. All are good companies that have good products. I myself was a Flowmaster man, until it just wasn't loud enough for me, now I have true duals, no mufflers. Good luck!

I have a full borla dual exit set up. The exhaust is very quiet. If u step on it and get it up to about 3k rpm it has a nice sound.

I am interested in switching up mine from the original 40 series flowmaster to the new super 44. The original 40 series has a great sound, and with 2.5" pipe it's not bad with the drone inside the cab. I hope exiting infront of the passenger tire with the super 44 I will get a good sound without incab drone to. Both those mufflers are easy to get on ebay with differnt inlet/outlet sizes for resonable coin.

If you put a Flowmaster infront of your tire you'll get a ton more incab drone. I had that setup and that was one of the main reasons I got rid of it. It's awesome when you start it up but driving with somebody and trying to hold a conversation is just bad times all around.

I have nothing against Flowmaster. It just made my truck very noisy on the inside. Other than that, my only complaint is that so many people have them. It seems like most Fords, Chevys, and Dodge trucks with a different muffler has that Flowmaster tone.

I hated my Hooker at first but now am a pretty big fan.

I have a IMCO Pro series (now called Cherrybomb Pro). I love the sound, it has the sound of a 40 series Flowmaster, same volume also, but no drone or low end torque loss.

I was tempted with the Cherrybomb. I think out of the majority of youtube videos, those sound the best.

I'm getting the Flowmaster 50 Series SUV on my truck... I wonder what that'll sound like.
