have an 04 love the truck cloth interior sux even water stains them other than that the 30,000 60,000 service cost is a bit obscene but they all have that now as far as power, throttle response and shift points a good programmer will fix most of this problem. looked at 08 and 09 will at the dealership still like the 08 body style better

There are a few things that bug me about the 150's

07-up 150's have the T.P.M.S. (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and no way to disable it.

The lousy Pissrelli tires that come on the factory 20's.

The failure prone I.W.E. system that all 4x4's have.

And from 04-08 if you got a lariat in bright red or dark blue pearl you were forced to get two tone, either arizona beige (04-06)or pueblo gold (07-08). You cant get a lariat in solid red or solid blue.

i cannot stand the seats in my truck, absolute junk! i love a comfy truck and to be 100% honest, i miss my 2000 siverado, the seat was like butter, now my f150 is way way more firm, it's just a preference thing. and another thing that pisses me off is the door configuration on the supercrew. the front doors are smaller than the back so it appears. oh well i'm getting rid of it so who cares anymore. they are good trucks overall except for a few minor things. they trucks are the quietest though, by far IMO.

I dislike the Chrome suround that is around my grill. I wish it was black. Everything else like it lacks 15-20lbs boost and is to high off the ground I plan to take care of.

x2 on the easily staining cloth seats.

I've got a couple rattles in mine that drives me crazy but other than that I love the thing. It's been a good truck so far.

I hate the tilt wheel adjustment. Wish they would use one like I had on my 87 crown vic.

I may be the odd man out but i really have zero complaints about my 05 F150.... i have had no major mechanical problems and all in all pretty much zero problems in the almost 60k ive put on it since buying it new. Now there are things that would be nice to have that the new 09's have but im not complaining about the 05 at all. My next truck will be a tough choice though... I like the new 09 f150's more and more each day but also have loved the 08+ F250's since they came out. To me it really comes down to reliability, looks, power and modibility then it just becomes reliability after mod's.... Which has been a non issue with my ford... I have seen buddies with chevys and dodges that had extremely extremely poor reliability after mods... not to mention they where poorly built direct from the factory. I dont think you can go wrong with any ford truck weather it be on 04-08, 09, or superduty. Just comes down to what do you want, like and what can you afford.

The information from the truck forums, not just this one. If you do some reading you will find information stating which problems have been worked out. I suppose you could take that info with a grain of salt but if you do a search on the person posting the info you can usually determine if they are of a credible source or not. There are (or where anyways) Ford people who frequented this site and other sites that would "set the record straight" as far as how Ford was aware and addressing the issue/s.

That's my basis

only have 1 gripe with my truck

I didn't inspect the paint job that well when buying it new. a few months later found a few paint flaws...dealer fixed for free, but now I've got some overspray in a few areas that just pisses me off royally.

truck always had enough power for me, but I always want more.

comfort wise, I love it. I've done 2 5,000 mile roadtrips and had 0 complaints. me/wife/kid road for 12+ hours a day and it wasn't that bad. But I have leather seats.

overall, this is my favorite Ford product to date...and I've had alot of them. I'm hoping my experience transfers to the 2010/2011 6.2 Raptor I'm gonna buy

EDIT: forgot MPG
even got 20 MPG on the highway before my mods. Hoping to pull down 18+ highway when I get back to mainland

but, it's a truck. I went into this expecting 12-14 MPG. Sometimes I get better, most times I'm 13 mpg. Don't expect good MPG with a 5,500 to 6,000 lb truck.

I agree that Ford is aware of this ongoing issue but the problem has NOT been resolved with all 2008 MY trucks. The latest TSB (08-7-6) Ford released on April 1, 2008 includes the early 2008 5.4Ls because this is still an ongoing issue.

SPARK PLUG REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS - 4.6L 3V/5.4L 3V/6.8L 3V
Publication Date: April 1, 2008

FORD:
2005-2008 Mustang
2004-2008 F-150
2005-2008 Expedition, F-Super Duty
2006-2008 Explorer, F-53 Motorhome Chassis
2007-2008 Explorer Sport Trac
LINCOLN:
2005-2008 Navigator
2006-2008 Mark LT
MERCURY:
2006-2008 Mountaineer

This article supersedes TSB 08-1-9 to update Vehicle Applications, Service Procedure and Part List.

ISSUE:
Some 2004-2008 F-150, 2006-2008 Mark LT, 2005-2008 F-Super Duty, Expedition, and Navigator, with 5.4L 3-V engine; 2005-2008 Mustang, 2006-2008 Explorer, Mountaineer, and 2007-2008 Explorer Sport Trac with 4.6L 3-V engine; 2005-2008 F-Super Duty, 2006-2008 and F-Stripped Chassis, with 6.8L 3-V engine may experience difficulty with spark plug removal. This may cause damage to the spark plug and leave part of the spark plug in the cylinder head. Affected engine build dates are as follows: 5.4L 3-V and 6.8L 3-V before 10/9/07, 4.6L 3-V before 11/30/07.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is my understanding that later production engines now use a different cylinder head casting which utilizes a one piece spark plug.

If you look at the driver's side valve cover, just behind the engine oil level gauge, there is a decal which gives the engine's date of manufacture. If the build date on your 5.4L is after 10/8/07, (or 11/29/07 for 4.6Ls) you should have the new design cylinder heads which utilize a one piece spart plug.

PS: now everyone go look at the build date on your engines!!

Only two real complaints...first being the uncomfortable seats, but that's a personal preference thing. Two... and the biggest for me is the four wheel drive selector...hate the **** you have to turn and would much rather have buttons...have actually reached over and twisted the fan control instead of the four wheel drive a couple times trying not to take my eyes off the road. Also the lack of an auto four wheel drive feature is pretty lame as well. Had this on my last two chevys and was a very nice feature when you're driving on roads that are often clear then drifted over (ice covered). Other than that I've enjoyed my two F-150's and neither "problem" is bad enough to get me to switch back at the moment...no way I'm gonna pay GM to drive a Silver-ugly.
