Dealer ordering me a new Windshield Cowling!
There is a fix, drill a hole in the center where the 2 pieces meet closest to the engine, put a screw in it and quit worrying about it. I did it to my truck and my buddys fx2 and neither one has popped back up
Haha, that's not mine, I dug up that image in a wiper cowl search. I'd like to get one this year sometime. The list just keeps on growing.
It's a Street Scene cowl, and I think they run around $125 or so, primed fiberglass, unpainted.

Well this evening the dealer www.TascaFord.com installed a new windshield cowling on my truck, it seems nice and tight right now, hope that it stays that way!........
I want one of those! But (knocking on wood), I have not had any issues with my stock one......yet
Dang it! Now there is another "mod" added to my list!! Thanks! LOL
Hopefully this will fix it for ya, risupercrewman.

After my dealership, S&C Ford in San Francisco, did a little research, they found the TSB. I haven't had an issue with it since. All labor & parts were billed back to Ford as warranty work.

2007 F150 Cowling
My cowlings keep popping out of place; in particular, the driver's side. No big deal since the truck is still under warranty. I've been back to my dealer's shop just about every other week for them to pop them back into place. They have tried removing the hood and resetting them, replacing them with brand new cowlings, and even replacing every part including the wipers, wiper blades, washer fluid lines, et cetera. I figure that for the next 5 years or 60,000 miles, I will be at the dealership every week or other week having them fix some piece of plastic or another. Even the wiper blades have been changed under their bumper to bumper warranty. I'm there so much that the service order writer no longer calls me "Mister" - we're on a first name basis.
The truck is fine mechanically. The engine & transmission does what it is suppose to do - which is get me where I want to go.
It's all the little things that seem to fall off or not function like they are suppose to. I've even had stake post covers pop off while I'm driving.
Anyone else had a cup holder not hold a cup or any other little annoying features not work?

Juat a quick thought. Since they are having so many problems with this, and it seems that most trucks are returning 2-3 times. Wouldnt it be cheaper to try and make the dealers pay for one of those street scene cowls. I have to go in tommorrow to have mine replaced. Ill see what kind of answer i can from them, im sure it will be no this time but if it keeps reoccurring maybe they will. Ill let you guys know tommorrow.
Well I got my cowl replaced on the 7th and so far so good. But i have a feeling it is going to happen again, before i got out of the parking lot it came loose again. I asked the service manager though, if i have to keep bringing it back in for the same issue would it not be possible to have ford pay for a street scene cowl. He told me he understood where I was coming from but as long as it was under warranty they had to replace it with oe parts. The funny thing is he told me that one half of the cowl is $48 and the other half is $52. So by the time ford pays the tech to install it and the cost of the part at retail seems like it would be more economical to go with an alternative. Oh well.
They sure are Ice Cube Trays! Who the heck was the engineer who designed these things?.......
I think that if this one goes astray, I will be getting the Street Scene one! I'll have by buddy paint it Dark Blue Pearl, & install it at his Body Shop! If you happen to come across the part # for this cowl, please advise us. Thanks! I have the feelin that I will be using it in another 30,000 miles....That was the lifespan on the original.......
