Truck leaning?

This morning I noticed that the rear of the truck was leaning a little left (driver's side). I read some threads but I've always seen this happen on the older style trucks. Anyone notice this on the 04 - 08s?

I see there are some differing opinions from the threads but one that always comes up is a full fuel tank. Well I did fill-up yesterday. If anyone has some suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Mine is probably in a permanent lean. all fuel on left side plus 99% of my driving is with just me in the vehicle.

Just get a BIG girlfriend to sit in the passenger seat. Sorry that joke was recylced from the Jeep forums; the big woody wagons were notorious for 'the lean' as well

Mine is the same way. It irritated me at first but i've learned to overlook it.

Mine does when i'm at an angle, but not much since I keep my fuel 1/2 tank to 1/4 average.

Get a bigger girlfriend

There are 3 possible reasons why you've got "the lean":
  1. The right side shock is going bad (causes the right side to be higher)
  2. The left side spring is bad (causes the left side to sag)
  3. The right side shackle is hung up (causes the right side to be higher)

I'm going to assume the shocks are going bad. Do you notice saggy or bouncy behavior?

I saw a dump truck like that the other day... I said, "Damn!!! That must one fat driver!" haha

But on the lighter side... it means the shocks are dead. To keep driving it like that results in bad gas mileage, bad tire wear, and wear on other parts too that will likely cost more than replacing that shock a while back.

Thanks. My wife is about 115 lbs. I'll tell her to bulk up this winter!
