2.5" or 3" leveling kit

I am about to buy my leveling kit and dont know if I should get a 2.5" a 3" kit. I have a 2005 Fx4 4x4. It sits pretty high in rear. Should I just measure from the ground to the wheel well on both front and rear and see what I need? Thanks guys

Edit: I just went and measured and it measures 36" front 39 3/4" rear. And thats from the ground to the center of wheel well.

2.5 inch is all I would do. I did the 2.5 inch kit on mine and it's level. I have an 04 FX4. One of the biggest problems with the 3 inch kit is the angles it puts on the rest of your suspension componets.

2.5" is more than enough. a 3" kit will most likely make you sit rear heavy.

my 2.5" makes the truck dead level

Here's what my 2.5" kit did.

Stock with 265/70/17 Goodyear RT/S's

After installing spacer and adding 285/70/17 Toyo OpenCountry AT's

Sit's pretty level IMO.

Just got my leveling kit on today, the front now measures 39" and the rear 39.75". So its not that far off level. Tomorrow I should be getting my 35" Pro Comp extreme A/T's on the stock rims. I cant wait to see what it will look like. Anyone have some pics of leveling kit and 35's? Thanks guys

Heres a pic

No more than 2.5" or you will run into problems.

I got my 35" tires on today and....THEY RUB! They are 35x12.5 18's, pro comp extreme A/T. Can I get spacers or something? At full lock they rub and at center wheel they are really really close to the ball joint. heres a few pics and also I painted my headlights yesterday and found out today that they are not completely sealed as you can see, but that I will just wait until spring and redo them. And I measured to the wheel wells again and I am at 40.25" front and 40.75" rear.
