I would have to say replaceing the motor at 2k miles because ford didn't put a spacer on the crank shaft the the rear end going out at 12k also ford fault. So #1 problem with ford is there factorys for me.

I have 80k miles on my truck, I bought an ESP Warranty right before it expired, I am sure glad I did.

At 6, 14, and 20k miles I brought it in for rear end shudder which they have never fixed. They replaced the rear end, drive shaft twice, never fixed it to my satisfaction.

At 65,000 I had the AC compressor go out

At 68,000 I had the alternator die WHILE I WAS ON A TRIP. Truck just died, no battery light ever came on. I was in the middle of nowhere, I had to have it towed to a dealer and had to spend 2 days in a motel because they did not have the part in stock. This sucked bad.

At 72,000 miles I had a front left brake caliper sieze. Luckily I was in town. But again I am glad I had AAA and had it towed to the dealer, again they did not have the part in stock (pattern here anyone??) so I was without my vehicle for 2 days.

Now the transmission is slipping and I think they are gonna have to replace it.

I am glad I bought my ESP warranty, it has definetly paid for itself.

My biggest complaint (I dont have the 5.4, so I dont give a **** about the spark plug issue) is rear end shudder which was never resolved.

Poor air conditioning: EVERY 2004-2008 has crappy Air Conditioning. My 2002 would freeze me out, every 2004-2008 I have been in (dozens) has terrible AC

Seat Comfort: the design of the 2004-2008 seat sucks. It dont matter if you get the cloth, the leather or even king ranch. They are not comfortable.

Throttle: the fly by wire thing sucks. Give us back a real throttle cable...

All american cars are easy to break into. It's just plain and simply sad.

Lash tick noise!! Help

Guys, my truck is starting to tick really bad! I still have a lot of warranty left should I go to the dealer and see if they can adjust the lifters? Is this the cause of the tick in the first place?

I have an 2007 FX4 5.4 loaded. I have about 60,000km

Cheers
Scott

My dad bought a 04 right off the show room floor. At 1000 miles his rear end started shuddering. Went got it fixed and then it started doin it again. Got it fixed and did it again. Once in a while when you started it up it made this god awful noise and Ford said that that was normal. And of course, the cloth seats staining if you looked at them wrong. So at 32k miles he traded it in for new 07. He now has 19,1xx and there has been nothing wrong with it. I did drive it today and noticed how when you got on it a little bit it would just cut out for about 2-3 seconds and then decide it'd wanna move. But overall it's a nice truck and he's had nothing wrong with it.

Hello, life long ford owner and new to this forum. Currently own 05 fx4 crewcab,05 mustang gt and 65 mustang convertible.

I don't really have a "#1 complaint so I will tell all my complaints as follows:

Engine and drivetrain

1) Horrible brake pads - replaced at about 10K due to massive dust and and pads thinned out.
2) total of 12 coils- 8 under warranty, 4 out of my pocket at $270.00. No reimbursment.
3) 2 sets of clogged catalytic converters....yes that was 2.(one set warrantied ,one set out of my pocket at 500.00
4) 16 plugs replaced and ford left 2 broken and pleaded the 5th when I had another mechanic check my truck.(while I was watching)
5)catalyst sensor? WTF is a catalyst sensor?
6)variable cam sensor?same as above
7) fuel pump-putting out 15#'s instead of 42#'s-caused truck to run LEAN, caused major problems.
8)idiot stealership parts changers.
9) truck also has had 2 sets of injectors installed
Interior-
1) only complaint is the poor microfiber or whatever it's called seat covers

Exterior-
1) poor paint job-missed several areas ,hood corners tight areas.

All of this started at about 40K.......seems like every time I took the truck to dealership it was always a coil going bad. I am sad to say, this will be my last ford.

The f'n seat design. By far the most uncomfortable seat I have ever owned in any of my vehicles. Long rides...forget about it. My leg, back and a$$ start to hurt. Thank goodness I got the bench seat in the front so I could occasionally stretch my long leg to the passengers side at a stop light.

I don't understand how my '98 Explorer was the most comfortable and my '04 F-150 is the least comfortable.

I could also add the transmission, struggling window motor when trying to put them up, noisy and dirty OEM brakes...

Current KBB trade-in value is less than half of my remaining principal (three years paid on my 6 year loan). This truck is too expensive (monthly) for it to be worth next to nothing at this point...That sucks more than anything. I want to unload it is while gas is low to maximize potential value. Yes, I am struggling to pay the note.
