So if you think that the other drivers insurance adjuster isn't doing you right (like taking the bed off), maybe call your insurance company - I bet they will help you out.

I had the same experience. Go through your own insurance who will charge the costs back to the other drivers insurance. Your insurance wants to take care of you, the other insurance does not want to spend a dime more than they can get away with.

What rental are you driving while they look at yours?

I am 19 so i cant get a rental. I am driving my dads car and he is driving the rental. I think they gave him a camry.

I've gotten rentals since I was 16.

When some chick rear ended my Ranger (may it burn in hell) when I was 17, I got a nice rental. It was the exact same truck as mine now except that it was silver and had the crew cab.

That is true unless you have Mercury as your carrier.

I don't think you have to rent a car yourself, as I recall you have your insurance company make the arrangements. You pick it up and they pay the bill. There is no law that you have to be 21 to rent a vehicle, that is just car rental policy which makes good business sense. Assert yourself.

If at any time your not making progress repeat this line to them: "This discussion is making my neck hurt."

well, just got an update for y'all today. The other guys insurance finally gave in and allowed the body shop to put the truck up on a frame test thing and take the bed off. Well, supposedly they have had the truck on the frame thing the whole day and whenever they try to bend the hitch back up to see if it will be able to straighten out, they cannot get it to budge an inch. Hopefully i will know by tomorrow or thursday what the rest of the frame looks like.

The hitches are really stronger than the frame of the truck?

well, the hitch is attached to the frame. So they seem to be having trouble straightening both out i would think. I would guess they are probably about the same in strength.
