Just make sure if they don't total it out that you have a good shop do the work. Remember you don't have to use THEIR shop to get it repaired

Bummer about being the second wreck in the same truck. Like you said though, at least it wasn't your fault AND the guy has insurance.

hitches are usually twice as stong as the frame they mount to.

btw that "imprint" picture is his condensor not his radiator

Just a little advice since I've been through getting hit before -

Long story short - I was not pleased with the other drivers insurance company - were taking too long to get back to me, and other very vague answers to my questions. I called my insurance company, and they really went to bat for me -

So if you think that the other drivers insurance adjuster isn't doing you right (like taking the bed off), maybe call your insurance company - I bet they will help you out.

That sucks man, ya if the bed hit the cab probably got some frame damage. Have fun in a new truck if its totaled. Glad your alright though.

Your truck is two years old, with a rear impact from a passenger car.

I wouldn't bet on it being totaled. This is what they make frame machines for.

It all depends on how much damage is done. As if it is 65 or 70% in costs vs. how much your truck is actually worth the may total it.

Just think , it took your truck being struck from behind by a car doing 40-45MPH, to make the frame flex enough to make the bed have contact with the cab. A Toyota Tundra does that from just driving over some rough stuff!...........I'd hope for the truck to be totalled, especially with this being the second hit! Can you say 2009 F-150!....

Settle out with the insurance company and find a good donor. The beautiful thing about box frames is that you can cut one off of a donor and re-weld it onto another. If you cut the corners and fan out each frame end (meaning overlap the two frames) you'll have a good-as-new frame with a super-strong weld between them.

This will save you lots of money. Just repaint a donor bumper and bed and you're off and running.

Wow... that's crazy!

I'm surprised I haven't been rear ended in my truck yet, especially when those kiddies in those automatics play yo-yo with me when I go to shift. Like they come within 3" of my ball. I think it's been hit/tapped before... but I'm not sure.

However, I've been rear ended in my Escape, and they didn't total it. It messed up a lot of it, but they still didn't total it. 2 weeks later transmission busted. Coincidence? Maybe. But I smelled new truck, and I got my a one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-duplicated, guaranteed-to-be-slow, /\/\ /-\ /\/ |_| /-\ |_ |= '| |; ().
