Passenger Carpet All Wet
Passenger Carpet All Wet
I went to go clean under the door sill panels in my truck today, and there was all kinds of water where the wiring harness runs. So, I looked under the front passenger side carpet and its dripping wet. I'm pretty sure its something to do with the A/C vent but not too sure. Has anyone else run into this problem?
I've heard of it...but not seen yet luckily. check your ac condenser drain hose.
passenger side carpet...not drivers

That's a good bet.
Leaky A/C drains, seals, grommets on the floorpans, even engine coolant can cause the carpet to get soaked.

My third brake light leak soaked the underside of the carpet on the entire passenger side in the back and most of the passenger side on the front, and left standing water in the wiring channel under the passenger door sill. I didn't find it till after I had just about disassembled everything on the front firewall and door pillar, looking for A/C condensate leaks and a supposed known potential leak at a body plug around or behind the fuse box. Of course mine is an '04 and they supposedly fixed them later. My old brake light assembly gasket was thin and shrunk to where it didn't cover the joint. The new brake light assembly I got had a gasked on it that was about three times thicker and a totally different material.
It was an easy test for me - five minutes with a hose up at the light. Then used "press on" caulk to seal the joint till I got the new assembly.

Had the exact same problem on my 04 Lariat ....not only was the third break light leaking bringing water in to get get my front carpet wet but there are small little black rubber plugs under the carpet on the passenger and drivers side and they were leaking horribly when you sprayed water at them.....a little silicone later and i was good to go!
I had the same issue a few months ago too with my pass. side front carpet being dripping wet. My issue ended up being the right front door opening seal on the body of the truck. I took it to a local "leak detective" to have it found. I tried the third brake lamp reseal thing and checked and cleaned my a/c vent and neither one of those fixed my issue....
Good luck, leaks are fun.

Front passenger floor wet. A/C condensation drain is not long enough,
water runs back on tube through firewall. The TSB has tech use "extended hose/tube"
to route condensation further away from firewall.
I had this happen to me on my '05. Luckily I found mine early. It's an
Easy fix, but a pain to reach.
Pull back your carpet on the top edge passenger side, under dash. If
there is white/mold or moisture on padding of carpet at the top edge, then there's good chance it the A/C tube.

Cool, I've never noticed the wetness due to having the rubber floor, but I found some in the door sill a few weeks ago. Figured maybe I blasted some water in somehow washing the truck, but this seems plausible as well. I'll take a look, thanks for the info.
That's where I found my water....
