I have my eyes set on this truck. It's a 06 f150 4x4 5.4 triton. 37,500 miles. When I go and look at this truck at the dealer, what are some things I need to look for. What are some known problems with these trucks. I dont want to get it and it cost me my other arm and leg to fix it.

 

Only thing about the 06s is something about the brake line. Other than that, a great truck.

 

There was a recall on the vacuum line to the brake booster that applied to '06's with the 5.4L.

I love my '06!

I would run a car fax and try to get an Oasis report (service history). If everything checks out, make your offer and walk out.

 

No problem w/ my 06 4X4... has 43,000. Just get them to do the recall for you!

 

Its a great truck. I have 25k on mine 6.5ft bed 4x4 5.4, No problems besides the brake recall.

 

No issues with my 06 XLT 4X4 5.4 at 21k miles but its also not my daily driver anymore.

 

Had no problems other than a slight pull/alignment issue. Had 25k on the truck when I turned it in, and did not baby the truck whatsoever. Strong truck, no vibe issues like my '05 and '04 had.
