You will need a handheld reprogrammer or a dealer to recalibrate it. It's pretty close with the 275 55 20's but mine was calibrated anyway.

That looks pretty darned tall for a Stage I. Here are a few pics from the Roush site:

RC500 4x2 without suspension

Stage 1 With suspension (look familiar?):

Guess it wasn't you or Mrs. Roush, but that is a sharp truck you have there. This truck had the decals, hoodscoop, etc. I really don't remember what happened exactly, it wasn't a full-on run from a stop type of thing, I think we just went at it side by side after the ramp straightened out. I just remember thinking the truck had to have the blower to hang like it did.
wstadmin, That Boss is incredible! I miss driving my Mustang so bad. It's scattered all over the garage right now getting a head, cam, intake swap.

RoushF150 - I appreciate all of your help here. I've been doing some searched here on lowering an FX4 and found out that the rear of the truck has 2" blocks that can be removed...

Q: does the roush lowering suspension remove this block?

Is there any way to lower the truck further with the roush kit? it says 2" front and 3" rear...I have 2" lowering rear shackels (came UPS today... that will take the truck down to a 4" gap in the front and rear (level)

Is this how the roush stage 1 4x4 stands? 4" gap front and rear? is this how your truck stands in the photo?

I like the lowered look.....What makes the FX4 so much higher then the FX2? wouldn't installing the ROUSH suspension on an FX4 or FX2 lower them to exactly the same height?

Thanks again for your help!

Thank you sir! You are too kind. Even with the badges, most people think mine's a slouch. I had a guy in a G37 try to box me in on the onramp at Woodmen about a month ago. He was in for a rude awakening.

I'm not sure about the 4x4 kit. I would suspect the blocks get removed during installation.

Shackles are shackles. The length determines the drop. I'll have to crawl under mine here in the morning when the wife returns to see which ones come with the kit (mine came that way when I bought it so I have don't really have an idea what they come with).

Mine's 3 3/4" from the top of the tire to fender up front and 5 1/2" from the top of the tire to the fender in the rear. I like the fact the rear is a little up. It gives it more of an agressive look, much like the old muscle cars had.

I believe it's the rear blocks that make it higher. That and stiffer springs up front stock (4x4 is heavier than 4x2).

OK...I ordered the Roush 4x4 suspension kit today - from the place you sent me - A GREAT buy - could not find the suspension cheaper.

What do you think of these tires (the 275 55 20's): They are only $455 + shipping

If they have a road force balance guarantee I'd say that's an excellent buy. This guarantee means that if you can't road force balance the tire within "specifications", they'll replace the tire.

As far as the tire itself I can't say whether they're good or bad because I don't know much about Cooper tires. I'm really partial to Toyo's. They balance incredibly well and wear like concrete. They also look really good.

If you need a high performance all season I'd go with the Toyo Proxes II. You can get them from TireDeals4less for around $624.45 shipped to NJ. These are the 285 50/20's which will also fit fine and I'm sure you can get them in 275/55 20's:

I ordered the cooper tires...they are quite expensive on the internet so the price of $455 was a good deal...I sent the guy a note though asking about the road force balanceing..... I'm not really sure what type of balancing that is but i asked anyway....

So that's pretty much it...I've ordered a ton of stuff:

Roush Hood Scoop
Roush Front Spoiler
Roush Rear Spoiler
Top stripe kit
Complete 4x4 Roush suspension
Roush Wheels 20"
Tires 275 55 20's
Stage 1 badges
2" rear lowering shackles
3" Chrome tube nerf bars

Hope this thing looks good! That's a lot of dough!

It will look fantastic. Trust me.

You'll want to do a Road Force balance on these. I can't stress it enough. What this balance does is checks the balance on the tire by simulating the tire on the road. Theres a spindle the tire tread rides on while the machine is running. Normal balancers only balance side-to-side. Road force also measures up and down. What ends up happening is the tire is spun on the rim to the match the low spot of the rim to the high spot of the tire. This gets rid of most annoying vibrations. I've even seen some really good techs add just enough weight (tape weights) to the center of certain spots to get it dialed in even further.

Normally you don't need it but the 19"+ rim sizes of our trucks demand it as the street tires are so friggin' big.
