RoushF150 - what size tires are you running on those Roush wheels? I just bought a set for my 06 FX4 and am struggling with what size tire to purchase. Thanks!

275/55-20's. I could have gone with the 285's but they were too "tready" for me.

They fit perfectly and are cheap too. Well, summer treads are anyway. I bought the Toyo Proxies S/T's for $612 shipped to my door from tiredeals4less.com. They're not winter treads so take this into account.

TD4Less.com is great to deal with. It'll cost about another $100 to get them mounted.

roushf150 - they look great...I think I'm going for the same tire size... Did you also install the Roush suspension? or is that the stock suspension? I like the agressive look!

Roush suspension baby!

I'd look like I was up on stilts without it.

It's a 4x2 Lariat. Yours may not get as low as this one out of the gate (which is still towering over many other dropped F150's). Mine's about 3" lower in the front than an FX4 and about 4" lower in the rear. Not to low. Not too high.

Woodhouse has a great sale on these kits. Get 'em while you can:

wow...that is a great deal (they have the same deal on the 4x4 which is the kit that I need - I think).....I also ordered 2" lowering shackles....that should lower the back of my truck by 5" and the standard 4x4 roush suspension will lower the front by 2"....I hope that's enough to make her look good with the roush wheels and 275 55r20's........ I ordered the hood scoop, nose spoiler, tailgate spoiler, stage 1 badges, roush gas door, hood and rocker decals...... and a set of tube style step bars in chrome....

Cool! What did you pay for the tube-style bars and are they Roush (R03020127-11-AA)?

And here's a great deal on a grille (2 in this case):

They have so many your head will spin, so offer whatever you want (Roush Overstock for the win!)

I have the grill already installed...I ordered everything except for the suspension kit...The tube bars I got on eBay (they came yesterday) already installed...look great paid $189 including shipping.

The suspension and tires I am going to order tomorrow...everything else was ordered from Stage3 and eBay....

What do you think of DJM Suspension Lowering Kits 3.5 front and 5" rear?? the cost is a lot cheaper then the roush suspension....

i just measured my truck height in the rear and the front...from the groud to the lip of the wheel well molding REAR: 39.5 and FRONT: 36.75

The gap from the top of the tire to the wheel well molding REAR: 9" FRONT: 6"

so using the 3.5"/5" drop, I would still be left with a gap between the tire and wheel well of 4" Rear and 2.5" front using the DJM suspension lowering kit...

If I use the roush kit, including the 2" drop shackles I bought, the front of the truck would have a gap of 4" and the rear a gap of 4" (roush would give me 2" front drop and 3" rear + 2" more for the shackles)

What do you think would look better? I don't think I can lower the truck any more then this as I cannot find a kit to lower it any more.

Those were some good deals.

As far as the suspension, you can go $500-$700 for a drop kit or spend $1070 on a drop, sway bar, all 4 shocks, and rear spring set. I've heard mixed reviews about the DJM kits.

I can tell you after driving other dropped F150's that the Roush kit is much better in both ride and handling departments. Unless the drop kit has decent shocks, you'll be getting a bouncy-bouncy ride.

It's really up to you. Remember, shackles can be used with the Roush kit, and if you want to go crazy, you can always cut the front springs to go down to ground 0.

If you plan on towing anything, I would stay with the 3" drop or you could be looking at dragging the trailer tongue. Mine get's really close when carrying 6000+ lbs.

ok...the roush kit it is then...I'll be left with wheel well gaps of 4" front and 4" rear with 275 55 20's.....maybe I should go with 275 60 20's....to try and close the gap a bit...

I do plan on towing so I don;t want to go to low....

285/55 20's will probably also do the trick, provided the tire will mount (check the tire mfg). You'll need to recalibrate the speedo in any case.

Also, stay away from Goodyears in these tire sizes. I went through 3 different pair (including the factory ones) and they still couldn't get them balanced right. Major garbage.

recalibrate the speedo? How do I go about doing that? will I also need to do it with 275 55 20's? These look close the the original tire height on the truck now. Thanks!
