Yeah, I know it was a little too harsh, but sometimes it needs to be said. And there are many members who will argue with you no matter how much evidence you have, just for the sake of argueing. That last sentence was meant for them.

Thanks 05redfx4
I was looking for a 1.5" leveling kit for my 2wd, do not want to really go high, just level the front to match the back. I will look into replacing the shocks, probably a wash as far as $. Also, I was looking at the Bilstein 5100, but the stock or aftermarket 4wd shock might be less $. I have already switched out the stock tires for 265/70's

holy crap, $50 each. that's alot cheaper than I thought they would be. I was expecting roughly $100-150 each

so I guess a 4x2 could gain 3.5 to 4" of height in the front for about $180 ($80 leveling kit, $100 for shocks)

as 05RedFX4 said, they are the same assembly, it's just the shock itself that is different. On the body of the 4x4 shock, the lower perch is ~1" higher than a 4x2 shock. Part #6 in the picture below

part #5 (coil spring) is the same between the 4x2 and 4x4.

As long as you know what you're doing, you can swap them without a spring compressor, just basic hand tools. The alignment is recommended, but not neccessary, you are only going up 1 inch. The only thing adjustable on the 04-up 150's is the toe-in/toe-out. The caster and camber are fixed and non-adjustable. A conversion kit is available to allow you to adjust the caster/camber.
Well, I am looking for an economy lift, and so far the autospring seems like the most "economical", even versus the take-off 4wd shocks. Does autospring even make a 1" or 1.5" leveling kit?

Had 3 (2004 stx, 2005 xlt and 2006 xlt all 4wd scabs).
Bought the xl cheap (off lease and a plan saved around 9k on a 21k truck), leased the others. All had nose down, it's always bothered me, but being leases I didn't want to spend any $ on em. With the buy I'll have it awhile longer, so don't mind putting some xtras on.
