Anyone's Radiator This Skinny?

This is supposedly the "super-cooling" option. The thickness of my current radiator is 3x that, that's a 1" core or so. Are there any advantages to a thin radiator?

That is a standard radiator. Back in 2001, Ford put the wrong radiators in from the factory. I made them switch it out with the one that was supposed to be in the truck with factory towing package. Bigger is better....

What the! Man that is thin, maybe azmidget will come in here with a racing application. So is that suppose to replace the stock radiator? I'd love to find a replacement that is black. I wonder if that would work with the efans?

FX4ME2 - so the fx4's come with the thicker rad compared to the other models?

I don't think they come with the fx4's Mine was an option with the towing package. Bigger radiator, trans cooler, and a high output altenator.

I just looked at my window sticker, and the tow package was an additional $350.00. But i'm pissed that i just read that my truck was supposed to have a leather wrapped steering wheel, It doesn't!!!

lol I thought the same when I got it. It has a pit****, trans line quick disconnect fittings, and two radiator hose fittings.

wow thanks that just boosted my ego a bit

but yeah obviously bigger is better along with more cores

but that is the rad i have in my truck, if fx4's come with bigger ones ill be going to a junk yard searching for one tomorrow....i run a constant 200* in the summer, and just had a efan controller go out today which also took out some of my other electronics.......

My 2006 and 2004 both had the towing pkg and both did not have a radiator that looked like that. It was about 4 times the size of that. I replaced the A/C Condenser in my 2006 when it was wrecked and it looked exactly like that ..

By any chance... were the cooling lines the same diameter?

Why I ask is that you'd think with the larger radiator, it would use larger diameter hoses going to the radiator...

not true, because then you would speed up the coolant which would make it run hotter, the reason for the bigger rad is so that the coolant stays in there longer so it has more time to cool down that and more coolant period would make it cooler
