TPMS Remote Fob Question
TPMS Remote Fob Question
My 2008 F-150 Supercrew Ownre's Manual says my truck was delivered with a small "key fob-like" remote to reprogram the computer when the tires are rotated. It even tells you where to put it in the Owner's Manual zippered pouch so you don't lose it. Mine never came with one. My dealer says none of them come with it, but they would order one. I rotate tires often, so I am sure I'll use it. Has anyone received one with their 2008 truck?
I know rotation has not been an issue for some, but I am running 80psi (possible) LT tires, which I should run close to 55 for daily driving. This is a far cry from the 44psi door sticker. At 44psi in my tires, I'd be running "Low", but the sensors will see 44psi and think I'm running fine.

When I rotate on my 07, The TPMS comes on for about .25 mile or so then it goes off. It just recalculates I am guessing. My owners manual says the same thing about a small key fob. What gives.

As far as your situation 44psi might be low but it's probably not the danger zone for your tires. If it is then I would just take it to your dealer and have them reprogram the sensors to a higher PSI. It should be free since the manual states we should have that capability anyways.
that dealer lied.i recently worked at a dealer and i had to do pre delivery inspections on the new vehicles that come off of the trucks.all the 2008 trucks and vans had this remote.i believe some of the cars had them as well.i have seen them in almost every truck so they need to fork it up.thats 2008s though.

the best thing to do is get the tires rotated and drive it after for about a half mile over 35 miles an hour and if it doesnt go out then go complain.i have no idea how the hell those things are supposed to work anyway.i have done tire rotations with no issues that i know of.i wouldnt even worry about it.
TPMS Fob
I did not receive one either. I took delivery on Tuesday. I called my salesman Tuesday night and he said "He would get one right away and send it to the house."

You should not need one. That is only for vehicles that have a recommended tire pressure that is different between front and rear (see F250s up). F150s come with a recommended pressure that is the same all around.
The Heavy Duty F150's have 50 PSI up front and 60 PSI in the rear.
That may be, but again it is only for vehicles that have different pressure recommendations between front and rear.
