Check out boss wheels. They have some nice ones. I also like the chromed 18 lariat wheels, but everyone has their own taste. Watch your weight because it will affect performance and fuel economy.

These are some nice wheels from Ford Racing. I didnt look at the price.

there are a couple of guys here on the forum with XL that are better optioned than most XLT's. they shopped around and added stuff on the cheap. and honestly, their trucks look way nicer.

I agree though, a set of wheels and pics of the new truck would be nice

Just thought Id give a little update on how things are going so far. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. Truck is very smooth and fairly quiet. The V-6 seems like it will be enough power for my tastes. Havent had to fill up yet so we will see what happens there. I think the main thing that would be nice is if it had more handy little storage compartments and maybe another cupholder or two. Im sure these are more plentiful on the more loaded up versions. Maybe I can find somesort of interior accessory to help with this. If you know of any let me know. Sorry I dont have pics but the weather hasnt been great and its filthy already. I will update again later. Thanks guys for all your help!

bench seat or captain seats with that little jump seat in middle (40/20/40)?

if the split seat, there is a center console that replaces the jump seat. It has cupholders built in and the storage space as well. looks pretty nice in most trucks

Mine has the 40/20/40 seat. I saw the console on here last night while searching around. That does look great but when the three of us take the truck somewhere I need the middle seat for my little boy.

BTW, I just filled up and got 18.5 MPG. Not too bad I guess.

And like a poster said above, I wouldnt get a F-150 with out the 5.4. Had the 4.2 once, and I will never go back!

I think you missed the sarcasm in that statement - the $9,995.99 truck has POWER NOTHING excluding steering - which is why it was a joke - because ALL cars have power steering now a days.

Initial X-plan = $28K for the truck

Rebate = $18K for the truck

Plus whatever supposed trade in value $2k?

So $16K minus whatever trade in you bring for a truck that stickered at $30K?

Basically can you tell me what kinda #s you had when you purchased your truck? I would REALLY appreciate it

Thanks!
Ok 30K is truck price
2k is X-Plan
28K minus the 10K rebate
18K for vehicle
Your trade in is worth 3K - they give your 5K as promotional sale
so if your trade in was paid off with clear title - you just drove off the lot with a new 2008 F150 for 13K plus tax and title

Now this sale is using generic numbers but from what I hear its still going on in some places. Have yet to hear of someone saying they received less then a $7500 rebate and X-plan only counts for those who get it. I personally had the luxury of negative equity to play with but still received a deal to good to pass up.

18.5 on a brand new engine is excellent. Wait until you put a few thousand miles on it and the engine is fully broken in...your mileage will go up.
