i have the older model scanguage and it works great. its pretty damn accurate aswell.

as far as your truck have you checked the airfilter, tire pressure, MAF, all the usual stuff? you might try posting this in the V6 section as well.

you also might want to size down the sig

Small engine + heavy truck = dicey fuel economy. 12 mpg does sound a bit low, but it's not too far out of reach depending on how you drive.

Hell, my Titan gets 11MPG all day long and I drive like a Grandma.

Oh well, I just put a lift on it and am ordering the 35's this week. Bottom line is, you gotta drive, right? Gas prices are what they are.

do you do mainly city driving or highway driving, im assuming city cause of the numbers. do you get on it hard off the line to get up to speed? do you really need a brush gaurd and toolbox? take out as much weight as possible. how many miles on the truck? 5 speed or auto? we need more info to give you a better diagnosis

City driving. Auto. i dont floor board it everywhere, the tool box and soon brush guard i need because this truck is a city truck on weekdays than a ranch truck on weekends but yeah im thinkin what is happening is since i dont have the stock "size" tire my odometer might be off? any one know when my scangauge gets here if i can put my tire size to correct this?

:Edit- The truck has 23,500 miles on it, had 18 when i bought it in November

yes bigger tires will throw off your miles a little
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
go here to figure out what percent the tires are bigger and then multiply your miles by that number..i think thats the idea,im sure theres a thread on how to do it right.

your truck doesnt have enough miles to need new plugs or wires and you changed your filters and oil so somethings going on. i can get usually 14-15 mpg in the city driving normal, 16 like a grandpa. and i have big heavy steel wheels and tires. guess we need to wait till you get the scangauge to tell

but my computer isnt recalibrated for the new tires? can i enter it into the scangauge so it will tell me the right MPG with the tires, or do i need to take the truck to the dealership to have them recalibrate it

acording to the site your tires are 5% bigger
http://www.scangauge.com/features/
you can see the features here.

im thinkin that the tires are throwing your millage off...you shouldnt expect much more than 14-15. your body style with bigger tires is alot of weight for the 4.2 to push around
