EBay Rant
I am not going after this POS, rather ,he did put me off for 3 and a half weeks. I could have bought a couple of subs off ebay for less money than the one in question. It doesn't matter if the refund what was he was going to offer. I wanted the sub, he was supposed to ship it.

in my aforementioned case the seller said there was a tornado in his area and his home got damaged...I guess he's unaware of the internet and the ability to find weather occurrences...nope, there was no such tornado at his location...
its easy to lie on the internet...why let the ***edited*** get away with it????
I surely hope I'm not included in that comment....I totally agree with your side and as noted I think you should go out of your way to get this 'person' off of Ebay....its really quite easy to lodge the complaints....

Dude, use a credit card on ebay and paypal. It will limit your liability, based on consumer protection laws. If the seller renegs, or just plain old screws you, call the credit card company and start an investigation. They'll need to give you a conditional credit while they investigate.
Whenever I deal with Ebay, I'm ready for knock-offs and other rip-offs. Since ebay was popularized (read: infomercials telling you how you can get rich on Ebay), it's my last chance. I usually deal with reputable online vendors who have customer service skills.
Good luck. I know how frustrating this can be!

I think its VERY obvious what happened here. You got a good deal and he didnt want to sell it for that price. Its his fault for not setting a reserve or starting the auction higher. File a complaint with ebay, paypal, and leave negative feedback. The fact that he was still listing auctions and shipping items after your auction ended is all the proof ebay needs to suspend this loser. His excuse doesnt cut it, it takes 5 minutes to drop the item at the post office. Make sure to send them all the emails and proof you have, turds like this need to be punished.
While I agree that really he didn't do anything illegal, he even tried to correct the situation, he's probably trying to get out of the deal.
The dude is probably some 18 year old kid who got some stuff from a friend and tried to sell it on ebay (note: I'm 19, about to be 20..) He didn't get what he wanted so he tried to back out of it.
Wait for the payment to clear. If it doesn't happen in a week or so, file a complaint. Either way you'll get your money. It's kind of like insurance - when you get hit, you're covered if you've got insurance regardless. If they don't, you feel screwed, but your insurance will pay you. In this case your insurance is paypal and your credit card company/western union/usps, whatever.

You want to nail this guy? for what? I would give him some neg feedback (he did waste your time, and others should know). He gave you your money back, your very very lucky he did that; eBay has no way of making him. I had someone just disappear on me when trying to buy a new ipod HDD, lost $200.
Misread, If the money hasn't cleared call your bank and tell them to not let the payment process.

well all it takes is telling ups that you have a pickup and they will come get it from your house or place of work. My family ships and recieves things all the time. It itfaster to go to the store but you can simply call them.

after lurking on this one for a few days, I finally looked. While I'm normally not opinionated on eBay, but this guy 768Murray does look very suspicious. Look at the other 5 feedbacks he has gotten. They all ended 1-2 days after 150 Flaresides auctions..and all the people got their items.

looks like the eBay guy is a fraud. Have you contacted eBay and Paypal yet? they're your best bet to get the $$$ back and to make sure others know what he did

I had a deal similar to this awhile back. Different seller. I bought a 200.00 dollar set of streetglow neons. Don't ask...
Anyway, 3 weeks go by anmd I get nothing, I reported the guy to ebay and paypal and never got my money back. sent all sorts of hate mail. You know what happened? they guy ****ing got killed in a car wreck with his two kids.
The moral of this? Don't assume anything. Fight for your refund but don't ****can the guy. He might really have a legitamate problem. I have been selling on ebay for a couple years and I have learned that if they offer a refund, you should take it because they are offering for a reason, get it while you can.
No matter how bad you want what you bought.
