MPG on 4.56s
MPG on 4.56s
I was just wanting know what your average MPG city/HWY is with 4.56s and 35s? Thinking really hard about doing a gear swap seeings how gas is creeping up on $4/gal. here in Florida. I do a little highway, alot of city, and I tow my boat on the weekends. Any input would be great.
i get better mileage in town, (13.5) on the freeway I get 12 - 12.5. If you drive 55 mph you will get 14 mpg. I have the edge level one, air aid intake, tb spacer, and flowmaster cat back. It is a 2004 5.4 3v fx4 4wheel drive.. I consider myself lucky! to get that mileage

wow thats crazy!!! I get about 13.4 to 13.6 in town and about 14 or so on the highway and I am running the stock 3.73s with my 6in. and 35s. I thought your MPG would go up if you regeared to stock configuration... HMMMM guess not.

$3.60/gal 87 oct x 28 gal = $100.80
$3.90/gal 91 oct x 28 gal = $109.20
For $8.40 more you get better gas mileage and more pep!
I ran level 3 for about 6 months w/premium, I like the extra torque of level 1 or 2 compared to the "faster" feel of level 3. Although I will say that level 3 is faster. Yes, Iam on 35's. why the hell wqould you put 4:56 on stock tires... And yes, with these lower gears on the freeway you actually get worse mileage if you speed... (like me) but it sure moves... like the old saying hauls *ss sucks gas...
