If you're not breaking traction off the launch, and you're giving it all, then not much, other than starting to mod. The truck is heavy.

If you're spinning off the line, then you either need to practice a better launch, and/or get some softer rubber in the back that will hook up better.

Did you try holding your foot on the brake while giving it throttle?

edit: I see you launched it right. Bringing up the RPM as high as you can is very important.

I ran 15.5 @ 89 with a 3.5" AF1, Troyer tunes, FAL 270 fan, UD pulleys, 4.10 gears, and stock 18" wheels and tires.

how is troyer getting numbers like that?? if you are running UDP's, 3.5 AF1, e-fans, and custom tunes, then the only thing that you are missing off of his stage 3 kit is ignition upgrades, longtubes, high flow cats, and cat back exhaust. does longtubes really make that big of a difference??? i just dont see that happening for some reason.

I have seen where people say they gained 30hp and equal torque with just longtubes, plus troyer is supposed to be the man when it comes to tuning the f150.

i dont know.. i guess longtubes and full exhuast being good for around 35 RWHP would shave about .8 off your ET.

its not bad. but its not great either. i think that the reason behind most people saying that the 5.4 is too weak has to do alot with the torque management system that they have built into the system. i personally love my new 5.4L. i used to have a 2005 with a 4.6 and that thing compaired to my new 08 was a dog.

I don't know. When I took it to the track the first time I had 18" wheels, 2.5" exhaust, and Edge on level 2 (didn't have 93 in it). I ran two 16.9's, followed with a best of a 16.77. So if you ask me, I added more weight to the truck with the wheels and added more power and still dropped to a 16.0. Troyers stuff definitely makes the truck book out. I just want it to be faster. lol

if you lost that much time even after adding 20's and what not, then i definitly need to get modding. im close to running 16 flats stock and now that i know i can shave time like that with bolt ons, ive got the itch. ive got to get my drop and 22's in before i start modding though. dont worry ill swap out the 18's when i go to the track.

Ah you suck! All this time I always thought you did that on your 20's. I took mine to the track and ran 16.0 and was thinking wow that UD and Electric fan really must add a lot to drop .5 sec. lol
