Factory Emblems Chipping

Did some searching, and didnt find anything about this. I noticed the other day that the black on all three emblems on my truck was chipping off, showing the chrome underneath. The factory 36/3 warranty is still good, so they were covered. Anyone else have issues with the emblems flaking?

I did. I was told that the paint was bad at the factory. It was replaced no problem.

Same here, both fender badges flaked off. Replaced under warranty.

Mine started to flake, so I finished them off with acetone... no more paint on th fender badges, I haven't done the tailgate emblem yet. I was planning to do this anyhow, so the chipping was just some more motivation to get it done.

I think my dad just painted them with some of that "chip paint." From a distance, you actually can't tell.

I actually feel like doing what BLACKOUT-FX4 did, and black the things out, and getting some decals. Then again, I don't know how that would look on a DSG truck (I think that's the color.)

For those of you that had them replaced, were they the same as the ones that chipped, or painted with a different paint? How are the new ones holding up so far?

Exact same badge(just one). They replaced the whole badge. It's been on for 19 months with no problem. And I live in the salt and snow winters.
