Little help please

So a couple of weeks ago I was pulling my trailer loaded with my quad and a Artic Cat Prowler(thing weighs a ton). I was trying to catch up to my buddy on the highway who was driving a Chevy2500 DuraMax Diesel pulling an enclosed double axle trailer-he was going about 85mph......I know, I know, not the smartest thing to do, especially cause it was on a slight incline.....but whatever. My truck was really struggling to break 70-75mph, then my girlfriend ask what this sound was & I noticed it sounded like the exhaust pressure was backing up or something??? Almost like a jet getting ready for take off So I slowed down and it stopped. On the way home, I noticed my truck sounded like crap-mainly from under the truck near the headers, sounded like an old truck spudering(sp?) when it was under acceleration...almost like an exhaust leak...when I let off the gas, it goes away. I really need to fix it cause I can't stand the sound, its not that bad from outside the truck, but inside it sounds like hell....like I said, an old, old truck. I'm guessing this may be a leak at the headers, I've read Josiah had some kind of problem like this with his gaskets.....just wanted to see what everyone else thinks. Thanks guys

You may have a plugged cat.

OK, I listened to it again and to better describe it-sounds like when you would stick a baseball card in the spokes of your bike, like a ticking sound and it gets faster and louder the more I accelerate, but its not noticeable outside the cab, only inside with the windows up and the radio down.

Wow that's it everyone??? 1 person.....sorry, I just hate it when I post something and it seems like no one gives a crap.....I mean some people get on here, post threads and get hundreds of replies within a couple of hours, seems like when I post something I get little to nothing, or sarcastic remarks...did I do something to **** people off here

Sorry everyone, I'm just on a rant-long night at work, stupid drunks vomiting in my patrol car, etc, etc.......I would just appreciate some assistance with this problem I'm having

P.S.-thanks Ftruck05, do you know how I would go about fixing those or the cost

sounds like you have a exhaust leak..

-Does the sound come from where your feet are?
-Is there a lost of power or power is the normal?

If your truck seems down on power, I would say it's your cat or cats are starting to plug. The jet engine sound is a telltale sign, along with the lack of power. If left alone, it will get worse to the point of it being totally plugged, and you will have less and less power and the truck will eventually stall out.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. I have to replace the header gaskets on my FJ40 all the time and it sounds like what you described. And next time how about you give people a little time to answer before blowing up.

I don't see a single sarcastic remark in this thread. Every single post looks to me to be about as helpful as it can be, considering we are all guessing because all we have to go by is what you describe. The only better advice you are going to get is if you take an experienced mechanic/technician for a ride.

Thanks everyone, first off let me apologize, like I said I had a bad night at work and I was just hoping to see some replies when I got home but there was only one, and there was a thread I posted towards the end of the year or beginning of this year where someone was giving me sarcastic replies about the mods I was doing to my truck-but no big deal, I'm over it...just set me off a little last night.........most of the time you guys are real helpful.

Anyways to answer some of the questions- Yes, there does seem to be a very slight loss of power, not a lot, but a little starting from a stand still.
-Yes the sound seems to be coming from where my feet are, near the firewall maybe

Should I just replace the cats with high flow ones?? Or should I do the cats and the gaskets? Are there any recommended cats to use?

before you spend money on cats, take it to a exhaust shop, have them use stethoscope to listen/pin Point for a leak.
