Well it sounds like a Cobra 29 LTDBC with a white Firestick (not sure on the size)? I guess I need about 18 feet of coax wire. I can't mount a magnetic antenna on my roof because it's garaged. I want to mount it on the front fender or on the front bed rail behind the rear window but I have a Bak Flip cover. Any mounting ideas?
Thanks

Im not sure how the back flip cover installs buy I dont see why a mount like mine on the bed rail wouldnt work
The guy at my local cb shop said best place to mount antennas is on roof or on bed behind cab

Or you could do the magnet mount like me and have the spring and quick disconnect. It works out really well just put the antenna on with a half turn and take it off with one If not there, then mount it behind the cab, but remember 2/3 of the antenna must be above the cab. If not, then your just pissing into the wind! Also get a spring and quick disconnect, that way it easily goes in the garage and comes out fine. The spring is for hitting stuff and not bending the antenna. For me that includes drive-through and things of that sort

Oh also, make sure the antenna is grounded well. The plastic on top of the rails is not a good ground btw

The Bak Flip mounts pretty tight to the edge of the bed rail so I don't think it could mount there. For a roof mount with quick release, how do you run your cable, through the back window?

Hey guys, I know this is an old thread, and most people hate them being revived. But if anyone can tell me where to find something like this for an 06 F150 I would really appreciate it. Ive looked all around and I dont know if this was custom made, or store bought. If it was custom can someone please give me a materials list and basic instructions?

Thanks a ton

-Dennis

I wouldn't sweat the custom job stuff. Go through Jotto Desk and get the custom CB Radio mount that sits nicely in the Dash Tray.

I mounted mine on the dash on either side of the cigarette lighter. The box is behind the dash and the mic has all of the controls on it. This works perfect for me because it is such a good look and doesn't take up a lot of room.
