We've been running the 10% ethanol for years in the 87 and up gas. The 10% loss in MPG figure is pretty accurate in my expierence. Bill is working on a 10% ethanol tune for me. He was quite optimistic that I should see a difference with a tune made for the ethanol.

No typo, Page 248 in my 2004 manual says "Do not use fuel containing methanol. It can damage critical fuel system components" That's why I was wondering what the difference is between ethanol and methanol??
When I hear damage to critical fuel components, I'm thinking injectors, fuel pump, etc. Is methanol being added to fuel at all? I'm pretty sure they said they were going with 10% ethanol. But why the "caution" about using any methanol? I'm no fuel expert by no means and I probably shouldn't be worried about this, but when they told me they were switching over, I got the book out.
