Headers

Hey guys. This is my first post on here, but i have been around the car world for a while. I have tried searching. But no luck. I am having trouble finding a set of longtube headers for a 2005 with a 4.6. I am thinking about getting a set of headers that will fit a 97-03 body style and trying them. If you any help please let me know.

Thanks Ryan

i'm not so sure the 97-03 versions are going to work. they have shorty headers for the 4.6, but they're not worth the work and frustration in putting them on. your best bet is to go with a set of long tubes, which will give you the most gain. as of yet, i haven't seen a company that makes long tubes for the 04+ 4.6.

also look into the Mustang 4.6 2v (1996-2004) longtubes...they have to tuck more, so maybe they'll fit onto your truck

mostly it comes down to test fitting. I had 0 luck finding longtubes specifically for your truck also

Thanks guys. I had a 00 lightning and now have an 03 cobra. I have been down the header road many of times. I had allready thought about gt headers, but you have to watch out. Most of them are for manual transmissions only. Too bad my stainless works off my cobra would not fit. Thanks again for the help.

I would assume the bore size for the exhaust outlets are not going to match up, unless they are both 2v. I would think a 3v would have a larger exhaust port than it's 2v predecessor.

The 4.6 in the NBS 150's is a 2v, only the 5.4 is a 3v

I think i might try to find a set of longtubes from a older f150. Im not worried about the y pipe, I am going to fab a new one. im just worried about the fit around the bottom of the cab and the transmission area.
